Choice Warranty contracted Bennett and Son to fix our AC. They determined it needed to be replaced - both heat pump and air handler. We paid Choice 1498 for the uncovered part and were advised we must pay Bennett 2690 for the work. We agreed and were advised by ****** we were receiving a 17 SEER. On installation day, Bennett indicated there was a whole in our 3/4 copper wire that would cost 1800 but they agreed to replace for 1000. Ultimately, we paid Bennett 3690 for installation of the new Lennox air handler and heat pump. Communication was great up to the day after installation after we paid, when we requested an itemized receipt, **** cert, and copy of the permit to submit for a rebate. Pulling the **** cert ourselves showed it to be 15.5 SEER and after three phone calls speaking to both the owner and ************** and three emails without reply, we have yet to receive an itemized receipt or permit. We are under the assumption they did not pull a permit at this point and are still in need of the receipt for tax purposes.

4/3/2023 filed a claim for our A/C not cooling properly and cycling on and off. CHW assigned Bennett and Sons Air Conditioning company Between the dates of 4/12 and 4/21 a technician from Bennett and Sons came 3 times. 1 - Condemned the thermostat - replaced and didn't fix the problem 2 - Condemned power switch - replaced and didn't fix the problem 3 - Condemned the A/C 4/22 CHW approved a brand new a/c install for inside and outside 5/22 Bennett and Sons technician came in installed and new unit inside and outside 5/26 A/C not working at all. Bennett and Sons does not answer phones over the weekend nor do they have emergency service available. 6/2 Bennett and Sons sent over the same technician that did the install and he said it was low on freon (weird) he added it and it was fine. 6/22 A/C not working at all called Bennett and Sons and they told us we needed to call the warranty company so they could have a work order. Called CHW and had to go back and forth. We also requested a different air conditioning company and CHW said we would have to pay a service fee again. We were put on the schedule with Bennett and Sons for Friday 6/23 but didn't have a service time. 6/23 called Bennett and Sons and they said it was raining real bad and they could give us an exact time and they would try their best to come. About an hour later we received a call from “HARRY B******” saying he would personally like to come to our home and see what’s going on. We explained that we were working and would be home at 3. Harry B****** said to call the office when we were headed home. We called the office at 2:30pm on our way home and the office said that Mr B****** was not able to come today, He would stop by Saturday 6/24 on his way out of town. 6/24 We spoke to Harry Bennett which he stated he couldn’t come yesterday because he was getting ready for a fishing trip. He stated he would try and stop by on his way to Miami for his 66th birthday fishing trip. (unreal)

I originally was supposed to have my repair done 4/11/23 at 11 am through choice warranty. I told patty that i work and wont be home until after 3. She said "ok, baby" And then i got a call around 11 am and I called back and asked Patty if she called me. "your appointment is after 3?" To which i responded yes. I drive home call patty around 3 let her know im almost home. She told me the technician was already there and they left. I was furious. I was waiting two days and she said i should have been home...which i was...and told me they called me several times... which the only time they called me was at 11; which could have been the wrong time. I did not pay for services, but im suffering harm and recovering damages from the heat. I told patty that and she said "everyone has a broken a/c" I kept calling her and pleading and she kept telling me tomororw. FInally she canclled the whole thing with choice warranty b/ c i was telling her i would report her to the bbb . so now my home warranty is making me wait 48 hours more.. i lost time from work and suffered distress from this. It could have been easily taken care of.

Technician came out to diagnose my A/C unit. Technician stated that the coils were bad and needed to be replaced. He stated he was going to inform the warranty company and come out to fix it when the claim goes through. The office manager at Bennett and Sons, Patty, received the report from the technician and put in a letter to the warranty company claiming that my unit was not maintained properly. I called Patty to ask why she claimed my unit was not maintained properly and she stated that she could tell from the photos of my coils. My A/C unit is from 2005. The coils are rusty even though I have had them cleaned. I even asked the technician when he was here if the warranty company would replace the coils or just tell me to clean them again. He stated that they couldn't be cleaned. Because they are so old, the fins would just deteriorate and they would have to be replaced. Patty tried to sell me a $600 coil cleaning knowing full well that my coils have been cleaned and that they were just too old and needed to be replaced. I notified her that I was going to report her and she said she was going to resubmit the claim to the warranty company with the correct information. I asked to have her send me a copy of the email. She did not send me her original email to the warranty company. However she did send me an email that she wrote right after we spoke. Due to her misrepresentation of the situation, she has caused my warranty company to refuse service on my unit claiming it is " not maintained, therefore voiding the contract". I would like for Bennett and Sons to rescind their misrepresented information with the warranty company and replace the coils in my upstairs A/C unit like the technician deemed necessary at no cost to me. I would like a letter, in writing not email, stating that my A/C unit was properly maintained so that the warranty company cannot deny fixing the unit due to Patty lying on her report.

Hello, this is ******************** I received a quote from Bennett and Sons AC company for a warranty claim In their quote for repair, they are charging $400 dollars to complete the job even thought I have a manufactures warranty on the unit and home choice warranty as my home warranty. They are charging for parts such as filter drier and listing routine task as modifications related to the install. They are charging fradulent charges to make more money. I was told by Patty at Bennett and Sons the $100 recovery fee it to remove freon from the line, to store it, and to place it back after repair. The technician related there is no freon in the system and it reads Zero, therefore this process doesn't need to be done. I am being charged the additional $300 and thier quote doesn't coincide what is being submitted to the warranty department. After calling Patty back to seek clarification and ask why she is submitting different documentation to the home warranty and listing it a modification she related, " Pay the $400 or you can roast in your hot house.... Then she hung up the phone." Please help me understand why this is okay for Bennet and Sons to speak to costumers like this. I feel like what they are doing is fraudulent and this needs to be looked into. What was in their quote that was emailed to me Filter Drier $75( This is a part, told the insurace company it was a modification) Torch $50 ( You have to do this to install the coil, sauntering part of the install, this labor not a modification) Vacuum Line $75 ( You have to do this to install the coil, part of the install, this is labor, not modifaction as they told the insurance company ) Recovery $100 ( Told the insurance compay they have to store the freon, techincian related I have no freon in the system, therefore no need to store something that's not there) Warranty Exchange $100 ( To exhange the defective coil, I am okay with this charge) Total $400
