We contracted with Lakeside Closing Services in September 2022 to help us surrender our timeshare to Westgate. Their website said it could be done in 45-60 days. We paid $2,100 and immediately they changed their timeline to 6-8 months. A month or so later they referred us to **** ********* ***. So far all that has happened in the last year is that **** drafted a letter for us to sign and send to our timeshare company in July 2023 requesting them to allow us to surrender it back to them. Our timeshare company never responded to our letter and we don't even know if they have been made aware that we want to surrender our timeshare. I checked the tracking for that letter and it said the letter was received by Westgate on 7/26/23 but they never made any acknowledgement to us so we are still no further along and when I asked **** what the next steps were they did not respond. Our timeshare fees will be due in January and we started this in September 2022 knowing we had 16 months before that would happen and nothing has been done. I requested a refund of our money to Lakeside Closing and was told their services are non-refundable but what service has been provided by them or **** Services? Because up to this point nothing helpful has been done. It's absurd that we paid $2,100 for a letter we could have written ourselves. We just want our money returned since truly nothing has been done and we are still in the same place as we were this time last year before we even reached out to Lakeside for their help. Our timeshare fees will be due again in January and we need the money we paid to Lakeside to help pay those fees. It's not fair to have spent $2,100 when literally no service at all has been provided. Please help us to recoup our money, we are not in a place financially to lose that kind of money.
