      On 5/15/24 we took our recently purchased 1968 International Scout to Elites Motosports to have a ceramic coating and undercoating done. I paid for the service upfront on my credit card in the total of $4,140. After having it for a few days the owner Josh Knight told me he would not be able to perform the service until some issues with the car he found were fixed. I told him we could proceed to fix these issues. The quote for the issues was originally $12,500 but has since gone up to $13,620 (this is in addition to the $4,140 I had already paid on the credit card). He sent me a text saying the deposit was $9,375. and that he would get me an invoice and receipt as soon as I dropped off the check on 5/21. I did and had to ask him twice to get me over an invoice and receipt. I finally got it about 36 hours later after the check had been cashed in which I noticed it said no refunds for deposits. It then was brought to my attention on 5/28 by the person we bought the car from that he didn't think that Josh had really purchased the parts so I asked for proof of purchase. He sent me a redacted receipt from a business for $2,134 that had the wrong delivery address on it. At this point I started to get skeptical but continued to wait for the parts to come in. I then had a friend whose friend works for Elite Motor share with me that not only had they never actually done the coatings for $4140 that he in fact hadn't ordered the parts. We got in contact with the company he said he ordered the parts from and he confirmed they had not been ordered. I confronted Josh through text and stating we would like a refund bc he had not ordered the parts yet and he then immediately called and place the order that day for $2134. I still have no information on the other $7241 of parts. He also told myself, my husband and the guy we bought the car from that he was making no money on the parts that my deposit was strictly for just the parts he's paying for. I would like a full refund...

      Jessica came to us for a Cermaic Coat which was completed. During our inspection of the vehicle, we found several issues that we have pointed out to the customer. We put together a quote and spoke to the previous owner of the vehicle who had it sold via Consignment from a Josh at Drive the Coast. They were fully aware of the issues with the vehicle and did not disclose them to Jessica. She then put a payment down for us to fully repair the vehicle. At some point Jessica decided that she did not want the work to be done and started to question our professional and detailed plan to fix the issues on her vehicle. We have ordered the parts that she put the money down for and they have received those parts. We are still waiting on the axle assemblies to be delivered and when we receive them Jessica can come pick those parts up also. As posted below are our terms and conditions on all jobs we authorized to perform on customers vehicles. These were reviewed by the customer and Authorized. it clearly states we will provide no refunds (Deposits are non-refundable. No returns or refunds on special ordered items or electrical parts. There is no warranty for used parts or customer supplied parts.) 

      Zero Refund will be issued and its very unfortunate that this issue has come to this point. We pride ourselves on providing the best services in the Emerald Coast! We hope that Jessica will be able to have her vehicle running right and our saddened that she was taken advantage of by the Seller of the Vehicle.

      Complaint: 21832971

      I am rejecting this response because: Josh has told me multiple times that the full ceramic coating wasn't done (he said he did only a temporary one year coating). I have several reasons to believe no ceramic coating was applied. The most obvious one being that there are multiple spots that are matte and a different texture proving no top coat was applied to the vehicle. Josh has yet been able to give me a date it was applied or proof that him or one of his guys actually did this service. Also, $1,500 of the $4,150 was for the undercoating which Josh also told me wasn't done as he was originally waiting on parts to come in to do that. He told me he would refund me for that amount and has yet to do so. I am still requesting a full refund of the services.
