    BBB found that an imposter attempting to pose as Glasser Schoenbaum Human Services Center is using the business identity to perpetrate a scam. Glasser Schoenbaum Human Services Center discussed with BBB and advised since June 2020, they began receiving reports of checks that appear to be sent out from their organization, accompanied by a letter from a large retailer regarding gift cards. These checks are not actually from the business. In January 2021, BBB received report from a consumer, advising of a secret shopper opportunity. They received a letter containing logos for large, well known retailers with instructions for purchasing gift cards, and a check that appears to be from Glasser Schoenbaum Human Services Center. The check is not actually from the business but from the imposter. The instructions advise the consumer to keep a portion of the check for themselves while the remainder is used to buy gift cards. They were asked to give codes from the gift cards to the imposter "employer" so the the funds are wiped from the cards. If cashed, the bank will eventually detect the check is phony and the victim would have been held responsible to pay back the check amount to the bank.
