      I took in my computer to be repaired at Apple Core . They replace my 1 terabyte hard disc drive with 500 Gigabyte Solid State Disc drive half of my computer capacity. I returned to get the original size replaced they said it would be about $250 more. I paid my repair of $631. My computer had a corrupt windows update made the screen black after signing in. They put in windows 10 and they replaced 4 applications: quickbooks, google, chrome, and zoom. They replaced the 1 TB disc drive with a lower capacity of storage of 500gb. I wanted the storage to be replace back its original size of when I purchased it. My original cost of my 1 TB HP Notebook was $500 at best buy. These guys would charge me $631 for a computer repair. Seems excessive however i paid it. It seems that is what they do to their customers as another customer on the phone had this similar complaint. On receipt size not specified of owners HDD hard disc drive when replaced with SSD solid state disc drive.

We did this service at a heavily discounted rate. Typical data recovery costs exceed $799 without installing a medium for the data. The machine that was purchased from Best Buy had a traditional spinning drive. We saved the data but before we do we always quote before repair and include a 90 day warranty for all repairs. We can definitely upgrade the drive to a higher capacity but unfortunately there is a charge for the difference in cost and the labor to clone/migrate the recovered data from the failed rotational drive. We charge a flat fee of $100/hr. We would gladly work with you but we cannot unfortunately go back on a repair that has not only been approved by the customer but data recovery and services are not refundable nor upgradable. I did allow for this circumstance to be come more than fair and allow an upgrade as a special exception. You declined this. I evaluated your machine again," free of charge and found no underlying issues with the machine. Quickbooks and services regarding software inside the machine isn't included as part of data recovery or as part of upgrading a failed hard drive. These are very custom services that require new serials for windows upon installation. The cost of the serial was $180, recovery of the corrupted data was $399 (large discount on this repair) and the hardware needed to transfer and to restore onto the new upgraded 500GB SSD including the actually drive itself. We work on tight margins and if I had the ability/means to double your drive capacity free of charge, our business would lose all profits entirely from this repair. As the entire process would have to be duplicated. We are very easy to work with but I do believe that our services can sometimes be overlooked as we took on difficult repairs that most local repair stores will not. I understand that computer parts and service can be expensive but we do guarantee our work for 90 days. An adequate amount of time to solve issues if they may arise. I would gladly upgrade this drive to a more expensive and larger drive but there is unfortunately a cost difference. If you would like a traditional 1TB non SSD drive in place of the 500GB SSD drive there will be a fee to transfer those data's and to clone that drive. $249 (discounted) to reinstall Windows, clone the disk and install all drivers for your laptop. Cloning Windows partitions is not a straightforward task. You must use external drives to clone your data and sometimes windows will still need to be reinstalled. This is time consuming and requires tools and expertise. This is not a free or simple job. I thank you for your understanding and taking the time to thoroughly read our response regarding this repair and again we are here to support our local community.
