Our contract was signed in Jan of 2023. 1st of 3 deposits paid. Roof was repaired April 2023. Oct of 2023 owner MC of ModZen/AMHS used our 2nd deposit of $12,263 to pay AlumFlo Inc. for carport materials. False start dates, unanswered voicemails and texts since payment. No materials. This constitutes as theft. Therefore, no stars.

I give them 0 stars. They've taken most of my money and still have not finished the work. My contract is over a year old! They lie to your face and tell you materials will be there on a certain day and then nothing shows up! Run fast from them!Review from Craig S

A year after signed agreement and $7500 deposit, still no work done as of 4/12/2024. No replies to my emails, no one answers the phone (voicemail is full), did not get the engineered plans correct for my home (I am a draftsman working for engineer company, I know how it is done!), they are no longer at the address on the agreement.The work they promised was to replace a carport and porch, plus metal roof over both and laundry shed of my mobile home, damaged and/or destroyed by hurricane ***.Review from Walter W

They are the biggest crooks on the west coast of *******. Sarasota county and better business bureau arent any better for letting them still exist. That a way governor ******** you truly do have ****** morals. This truly is a ****** state.Review from Nancy R

They didn't keep the date projected for completion. It will be a year on December 16th, 2on23. This is very disturbing to say the least. Mod-Zen is doing people who signed after us because the value of the repair is less money wise. The company will not return phone calls or email responses. How can I get something done with this situation. I could be collecting interest on the money that we gave as a deposit instead of using to complete our carport.We have been given two different start dates but no show with material or workers.Review from Paul D

THE AMOUNT OF LIES THEY COME UP WITH IN THE OFFICE IS UNBELIEVABLE!. Used them to build my carport and front facia. They told me in writing ***** weeks. It took them 24 weeks just to start. The workmenship is absolutely atrocious. I have more caulking the screws in my carport. I would not use them again if it was for free, the lies and misinformation and stress working with them is just not worth it. **** the owner says says they have thousands of satisfied customers. Well where are their great reviews. He has even gone so far as to threaten my fathers 85 year old GF with a lean on her house if she doesnt pay him in full. For a job that didnt pass Sarasota county inspection. Stay away from this company at all costReview from Mike M.

As this business has done with many customers in our park, they took deposit money in the fall of 2022 and after 9 or 10 months, have still failed to show up to work, despite promise after promise after promise. The promises were approximately bi-weekly, the results, nil. In our particular case, after waiting 9 months , we canceled the contracts, and asked for our deposit back, based on the following facts: 1. Work was never even started, much less completed. 2. No where in the signed contract did it say contractor could keep the deposit. 3. Contractor did nothing to earn the money, therefore is not entitled to keep it. 4. Contracts were canceled in writing, and the house has a new owner, who wants noting to do with Mod-Zen Construction LLC. It is clearly wrong to keep money you did not earn. Case for recovery is being filed in court tomorrow. Mike C****** and Piotr M***** (owner) have no scruples, and as evidenced by the other reviews and others in our park that need hurricane IAN repair, both men are willing to cheat people out of there hard earned money without a second thought. hey deserve zero stars but we can't give that. I am writing this on behalf of my 76 year old single sister in law, who was taken for a ride.

This review is 100% untrue. We were the only ones in the park that were tarping roofs for the 2 or more months that no other company did. It took at least 3 months to get engineered drawings issued, and lengthy waits for the county to issue permits.
We finally were able to deliver materials in august and were turned away, with no prior warning, and told that the house "was sold".
We are willing to refund monies paid minus our expenses.
We have many happy clients who did not lose one carport, shed or new home setup with hurricane Ian.Customer Response

As usual, lies. To say my review is untrue is a flat out lie. There were many companies and charities tarping roofs in the park. I never saw Mod Zen do ne, and they certainly did not do my sister in laws. To say you have many happy clients is irrelevant. I like the others in my park still waiting after months of broken promises are not happy at all. I can provide a list of names if you want, several of whom are my neighbors. All I want is the deposit back as Mod Zen did NOTHING to earn it.
