DO NOT waste your time calling D&D Garage Doors. Their outgoing message indicates that your call is important to them, however, they never return your phone call. Finally, after phoning them 3 times with no return phone call, I finally managed to speak to *****. ***** scheduled an appointment for a service technician to come to our business to look at our commercial overhead garage door. On the day of appointment, the technician did not show up at the scheduled time, nor did we receive a telephone call. I called ***** and was told that the technician was about 15 to 20 minutes away from our business. The technician never showed up and never called, and I never received a call from ***** or anyone else at D&D Garage Doors. I would never recommend this business to anyone and I will never contact them again. I highly recommend Overhead Doors in Fort Myers, FL. I called them shortly after 8:00 am, and they had a service technician here by 9:30 am.D & D Garage Doors, Inc. Response

We acknowledge and apologize as there was a miscommunication between our inside staff and the service technician late on that Friday afternoon. We have taken action in hiring additional staff to keep this from happening in the future.Review from Patricia J

They came out to reprogram our garage door opener remote. When he left, our garage door opener no longer works, manually or with the remote. Our truck is stuck inside. I have not received any answers to my call and emails.D & D Garage Doors, Inc. Response

When our service tech went out to this residence, the customer had locked the door with the wall button. There is a lock button on the wall button that causes the door to not open. This feature is created for people to be secure in their house when they are home. There was nothing physically wrong with the door. Our tech did a general maintenance on the door while there and explained the lock feature. We are sending another technician out to help this customer, but it is being caused by the customer locking their door. It is user error.Review from Lisa S

Absolutely the worst customer service and installation I have experienced in all my years of home renovations. They replaced my old garage door with a hurricane, non-insulated door. We immediately realized there was something very wrong when the sounds of clanking metal and grinding were echoing inside our house each time the door opened and closed. After weeks of chasing, we finally got a technician and sales rep back out to the house to see the problem. The opener had not been reinforced to accommodate the weight of the new door so it was bouncing around when the door opened. The opener and track was not at the right angle to handle the new door, but the sales rep never measured or mentioned this was going to cause a problem. We also lost about 6" of length in our garage with the bracing of the new door - which we were not told when we met with the sales rep. **** is important because our garage is small and car is very long. Now we only have about *****" of space to move around the car when the door is closed. We complained that they never said our new door would be so NOISY and that that they didn't install is properly. After weeks of complaints we got someone out to the house to review it. They offered to charge us more to fix it and replace the door with an insulated door. We asked to speak with a manager, made calls, sent emails, and still NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. **** has been the worst company to work with in years of living in ********.D & D Garage Doors, Inc. This is a case of buyers remorse. Our sales person started by trying to sell them a Clopay insulated door, which we consider a standard. This customer opted to get the least expensive door that Clopay manufacturers which consists of a single piece of roll formed steel without any insulation. The lack of insulation will make this door seem louder due to the lack of noise absorbing insulation. There is no decibel rating for garage doors given by any manufacturer. The door was not installed incorrectly. It was installed per the manufacturers specifications and the Florida building code. The door they had before was not rated for current Florida building code. When the door was changed, it had to be brought up to code. Florida building code requires re-enforcement attached to the inside of the door which accounts for the loss of space mentioned. The struts attached to the interior of the door per Florida building code are 4-1/4" and are required. Their complaints were responded to as well. We offered to take back the original door (which would have to be discarded), and only charge them for the difference in price for the door they purchased and the standard door we tried to sell them at the beginning along with an additional removal and installation fee. They refused this as a resolution.
The customer was provided what was purchased and installed per the manufacturers specifications.

They don't deserve any stars. I ordered my door through ********** on Dec. 15, 2022. Because of the hurricane and building boom, it took until March 10, 2023, for it to come in. ***** picked it up. I waited for them to call me for an installation appointment for a couple of weeks; nothing. I called them to find out what was going on. They told me they were waiting on a permit. They knew shortly after I ordered the door that they would be installing it, why did they wait to pull a permit? A couple more weeks passed with nothing so I got on the building department's website and checked for the permit. It had gone through. I called them again, told them the permit was approved, and to set an appointment and got one for **** 15th.Just before the installation day, I got a call saying the tech had to get surgery so they were canceling the appointment. They made a new appointment for the 23rd, between 7-9 AM. My husband took the day off from work to be there. The appointment time came and went so my husband called them. He was told that the tech had been fired and that they had called me and sent emails telling me the appointment had been canceled; all lies! My husband asked to speak to the manager but was told he was too busy to come to the phone. My husband went back to ********** and told them what was going on. They called ***** and told them that the new appointment had to be on a Saturday so my husband wouldn't have to miss any more work. They said they had an opening for the 18th (Tuesday) but they would call the next day to see if they were able to book a Saturday. They didn't call.My husband called them again to find out what was going on. The nasty woman on the phone said they don't do Saturdays. My husband was fuming mad and asked for the manager. He was told he was out on the floor and had no time to talk with him. My husband yelled that he wanted the manager and she hung up on him.Save yourself the aggravation and find someone else to install your door!Review from Howard E

I just want to let everyone what an unprincipled company D & D Garage Door in Port Charlotte is. Back in November 2022 I damaged the lower panel of my Wayne Dalton garage door. Since D & D is the only company that handles this product I had no choice but to call them. An appointment was made, and a technician came out to give me an estimate. Once I received and approved the estimate and gave them a deposit I then waited 5 months before it finally arrived. The week before the promise date I started calling them to find out if the panel arrived, it took several more calls before I was told that there are 3 or 4 panels in the yard (none of which had my name on it). Obviously, the panels were probably sitting there for a while. A week later they came out to install the panel (It should be noted that other then the original damage the door operated perfectly fine) after the install not so much. A few days after the install the door started making all kind of noises going up and down, shaking, rattling then I started hearing a whining sound. I called the company and they sent someone out the following day. When the technician arrived (an hour late) he listened to the noises and immediately said the spring is binding and that's what's causing the problem (a new spring would cost about $600 to replace). I said if that were the case why didn't the tech who installed the panel notice it (I don't believe in coincidences). The following day I called the office again to see if they would send someone out again to really check the door to make sure everything worked properly, like the balance weight of the door, the cables anything else that might be the culprit. I was told that if it related to the panel there wouldn't be any charge but if the problem was unrelated I would be charged a service call of $99 plus any parts. I asked how would I know if it was related or not, your in business to make aren't you, got no response.Review from Emily S

I would really leave zero stars. This company is absolutely horrible. Their "lead customer service representative" is an absolute nasty person who has no business being in customer service to begin with. The so-called manager has no idea that the customer is always right. As a manager you do NOT get on the phone and tell an irate customer who was given information by your lead customer service representative with no follow through regarding the customer receiving a phone call for an appt time and then proceed to tell that irate customer to "calm down". I'm sorry a male manager telling a female customer to calm down is extremely demeaning and I for one do not respond well to it and I do not appreciate it. I do not appreciate being talked to like a child and that is exactly what that manager did to me. That same male manager would NEVER have talked to another male customer with such disrespect if that male customer had spoken in the same stern and irate manner. I called Thursday, December 23 because my garage door broke that morning. Now I understood having to wait for an appointment till after Christmas. I was told I would get a phone call back the same day in order to make an appointment for Monday 12/27. That never happened. I called back on Monday 12/27 then get told that I am to wait till Wednesday 12/29. No. I am not the type of customer that excepts a company dropping the ball then telling me I have to wait and then proceed to treat me so disrespectfully when I get upset regarding their mistake. If a company's customer service, the frontline of any business, has no idea how to treat their customers then I have absolutely no interest in having them in my home and paying them good money. Please DO NOT use D & D Garage Doors. If you do it's at your own risk. One of the most Unfriendly & Unprofessional companies I've ever dealt with!
