On 12/21/2022 BaCarr installed a new A/C unit in my mobile home for the price of $1,550. Prior to installing this unit I had good air flow to all my rooms which included the heating unit. However after the installation I started to have heating problems with the unit. It would heat part of the home, but not the bedroom and bathroom, which were at the back of the home. I continually complained about this and was informed that it was due to the force of the heating unit being directed to the other areas of the home and then that the heat strip was only suitable for a 5kw heat strip and I had to have an electrician put in a larger wire size to accommodate a larger heat strip. They also stated that my floor boards were slanted down to the front part of the house where most of the heat was being distributed and that I needed to replace the floor boards. after seeking a second opinion from ******, I was informed that there was a 20 - 30 degree difference in heat flow to various vents about the home and that the underside of the home, including the floor boards, would need to be replaced before the heat flow would be evenly distributed. My old, used unit, had a 7.5kw heat strip and the new unit will not support this size unless a new high volt wire was installed. Currently I am getting cool air in the bedroom and bathroom which has no effect on heating those 2 rooms. BaCarr is reluctant to increase the heat strip until I either have an electrician increase the wire size and/or I have the floor boards repaired. No mention of the heat strip or floor boards was imparted to me prior to the new installation and now they are asking me to incur further expenses to correct the heating problem, which I find deplorable.Business response

We did install a new A/C unit for ************** , he contacted us a couple weeks later said he wasn't getting heat in his bathroom & bedroom, we went to his home 3 or 4 different times to help fix the problem . The problem is his home is a very old Mobile home and the floors are all uneven and falling in we told him he needed to replace his floors for the system to get even flow in the home we don't replace floors we only do Air-conditioning. The system is working perfectly fine and has great air flow but because of the way his floors are he is not getting even flow.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:I had no problem with the old system of getting heat evenly distributed throughout the home and they never addressed the possibility of my having any problem getting heat distributed evenly with the new system. They also have stated numerous times that my old system used a 7 kw heat strip whereas the new system uses a 5 kw heart strip and they cannot install the same 7 kw heat strip unless I have new high volt wiring installed to accommodate the increase in the size of the heat strip. This would require me to hire an electrivian to increase the wire size going to their unit and I would have to undergo the further expense of having this done. Either way - having the floors redone or the wiring redone - requires further costs on my part since all they do is Air Conditioning. This is a no-win scenario where they say the new system is working perfectly but that my house is in need of repairs to meet the needs of their new system, whereas the old system worked perfectly without having to do repairs to my home. The fact that they cannot increase the size of the heat strip because of my current inside wiring was never addresed, or discussed, prior to installing the new system. They arbitrarily installed the new heat strip without consulting me or advising me that I might have a problem with heat flow using the new, smaller size, heat strip and now they want me to make repairs, at my expense, to remedy the situation. Even though they have been above board and given me outstanding service, and discounts, with the other used systems and maintenance they have performed for me in past years, this newest installation has become a nightmare. I had no cause for alarm to believe that this new system would also perform as well as the other units they have installed for me. Now they are saying that my home is old and decrepit and needs new wirinig to meet their "NEW AND IMPROVED" unit that I must make repairs to bring my home current with their newer equipment, which was never an issue before. I don't believe that they will change their position on this matter and that I will be taking a ****** on whether the repairs will be enough to correct the problem that I am currecntly experiencing. I don't really see any reason to pursue this matter any further. Thanks for your ear and taking the time to address this complaint.
Sincerely,
