On January 26th, 2022 I purchased a set of hearing aids from the Hearvix website (order# H4643) for my elderly father to replace his old broken hearing aids. I paid $197.00 for the set. I bought the hearings aids based on reviews, price, and their "30 day Money back Guarantee". I received the hearing aids promptly on January 29th. I simply took the hearings out of the package and put the batteries in them to get them ready for my father. Upon comparison to my fathers old hearing aids the new Hearvix aids where nowhere near loud enough for my fathers ears. The Hearvix aids simply did not amplify sounds enough to be useful to his needs. I took the batteries out of the Hearvix aids, sterilized them with an alcohol wipe and repackaged them as neatly as received. I contacted Hearvix for a return authorization number on February 1st. Hearvix support replied with a RMA# XXXXXX and instructions, which were followed exactly and the Hearvix aids were mailed back "at my expense" on February 2nd. On February 10th I received an email stating my return was received and "store credit" of $147.75 is ready to be used. Nowhere in their return policy does it state there will be a $49.75 charge for a returned item. Furthermore, I checked the appropriate boxed marked "Refund" NOT "store credit" which doesn't even make sense... Why would I want "credit". Now Customer support wants to argue and not refund the amount paid to the original payment method as stated in the return policy! I feel this is a scam and an opportunity for this company to keep hard earned money from good folks who simply need their money back. This could have been a simple and amicable process, but big bully companies feel they can get away with this type of conduct and it is just wrong. I simply wanted a refund, and furthermore feel it is very unfair to be charged $49.75 for a returned item in as new condition with un damaged original packaging. Please Help!

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/17) */ There appears to have been an internal returns software malfunction. This issue has been internally escalated and appropriately investigated. The customer has now been refunded via the chosen method, so the issue should be promptly resolved. With regard to the restocking fee which is deducted from the refund, this is noted in the refund policy. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Hearvix Return Policy states a "Small restocking fee may apply". I submit to you that $50 dollars is not a "small fee", its a fourth of the total price paid! Typical restocking fees from "Reputable" companies are usually in the 10% to 15%. This is just another attempt from less than reputable companies to make money off of hard working class. This type of irreputable gain has to stop and protection is needed for the good paying consumers. I can understand a "small restocking fee" and 10% to 15% I'd be willing to pay but over 25% is not tolerable or fair business ethics!
