Did not complete the job of replacing concrete around the vents that hey replaced. Left a used paint roller pan in a valley. Spilled paint in many places on the roof tiles. Dented one of the new four foot vents. Wouldn't have know all of this if the insurance adjuster didn't take photos and show me. They came back and reapplied concrete to the roof cap buy refused to reapply concrete around the vents or stacks that they replaced. Had to have another roofer finish the job. ALWAYS HAVE A ROOFER TAKE BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS TO SHOW YOU THEIR WORKMANSHIP. MCE Roofing company does a slipshod job and gets away with it because clients can't see the work from the ground.

As I had explained to Mrs ***, installing concrete around vents will cause them to rust which is why they had to be replaced in the first place.
She is upset because when she called later to have her own house looked at (we had been working on her neighbor's roof) we had adjusted our working radius. The neighborhood that she lives in is a 45 minute drive from our office and it no longer makes since for us to take the time to travel that far when it is not necessary.

If we had done a poor job why would she call us to work on her own home?

This is the first I've heard about vents rusting. The explanation for the vent failure given by Nate was poor installation and improper flashing. I wouldn't have known about the broken tiles and unfinished, substandard workmanship if I hadn't spoken with the homeowner's insurance adjuster who was appalled at the substandard workmanship and provided photos of the work and debris left on the roof. He suggested calling Nate back to finish the job correctly, which I did. Broken tiles still remain. And this is the first I've heard about no longer servicing my area. A true professional would have responded to my three correspondences and told me so. As for why I called Nate for more work, I thought that we had an established business relationship based on maturity and truth. I wrongly assumed that Nate would be grateful for feedback, good or bad, regarding the quality of workmanship that his company provided. I also expected that since we've used Nate many times in the past and have referred him to so many people, that Nate would want to continue to work with me. I've always been fair and honest in dealing with his company. I expected the same from him.
