I enrolled my puppy for group training in September 2023. It was not going well, I at first asked if they could find him a home while they kept him. In the meantime, the businesses where I purchased him offered to take him back for additional training and if not successful offer a new pup. Smart Paws insisted they could board and train him. 4 weeks for ****** I let them keep him only to be contacted because the training could not be completed and I would have to pick him up and then return at some point (no time given) When I went to pick him up, I find he has a prong collar on an 8lb dog. Very inhumane, but apparently effective. He was scared to do almost anything. After taking the collar off, he was as happy as could be, but his issues came back soon after. I see if a collar is on you that pokes when someone yanks it, that's effective training? One of the trainers took my pup home to their child as a pet rather than a board and train pup. When I asked for him back, I was given a guilt trip about that, yet I still paid for the initial group of which we attended 2(never given credit for the rest) and training. How can a business justify a trainer being paid to train a dog they took home? And did not complete the training knowing the problems I was having. I was given a partial refund of $******** I am requesting the amount of all I have paid these crooks who took advantage of my emotional state at the time.Business response
