My son (14) and I arrived during Tropical Storm Debbie, poor timing on our part but we booked the trip 9 months in advance. It rained Sunday and on and off Monday, so we basically lost 2 days of enjoyment. Monday's wind was so strong, couldn't even sit on the beach. Plus the carpet in our room was wet causing a mildew smell. Tuesday, we did get to enjoy some sun, beach and the pool. And on Tuesday we were able to get the room clean. Wednesday morning, I go to grab my jacket (*** Alumni hoodie) from the closet to put in my carryon bag, that I hung in there to dry from Sunday and Monday's rain, it was gone. I reported it to the front desk who also called security. This jacket is very sentimental to me because it was a package gift for my 25th anniversary. Security said they would check with housekeeping since I was leaving Thursday and needed my jacket for the freezing plane ride home. I had to keep checking in with them every 2 hours. By Wednesday at 5pm, I still haven't heard anything. I got back to security and the person I was in contact with and his manager had left for the day. I guess my stolen jacket is not a priority to anyone but me. I was able to tell my story to another security person who then directed me to the gift shop for a hoodie that was being accommodated to me. Since I've been home, I called Sunday to see if there's any response from housekeeping...another security person I have to explain the situation to and still no response from housekeeping.Review from Jennifer M

I cancelled a reservation with them for a full refund which they claim to have issued and did not. I have sent all of my proof to their accounting department that now blames the credit card processing company for not batching on that particular date. I have been given the go round for almost a month now and they have so nothing. They owe me $849.Review from Yvette L

THE RESORT WAS A GREAT CHECK IN UNTIL THEY SEND YOU OVER TO ANOTHER DESK FOR TIME SHARE PRESENTATION. BLUEGREEN I BELIEVE IS THE NAME. ANYWAYS THE ROOM WAS WRONG AND THAN COME TO FIND OUT THAT WHEN I WENT ONLINE THEY HAVE SOME SORT OF THRID PARTY RESERVATION COMPANIES THAT PRETENDS TO BE THEM AND ANSWERS BY THEIR HOTEL NAME. I WAS GIVEN A COST WITH FEES AND TAXES AND DURING CHECK IN I WAS TOLD OF RESORT FEES THAT TOTAL +110. WATER SET AND ALL AMENTIES INCLUDED, NOPE NOT AT ALL NOT EVEN A CABANA. THEY GAVE ME THE KING ROOM AND THE BED WAS OLDER AND TOO SOFT AND LUMPY AND THE ROOMS ARE NOT WELL TAKEN CARE OF. STAY AWAY FROM BLUEGREEN TIME SHARE AS THEY DO CHARGE YOUR CARD (I WAS TOLD THE CARD WAS TO HOLD A SPOT BUT CAN CANCEL ANYTIME) THEY RAN THE CARD! OVERALL TOO EXPENSIVE WITH THEIR FEES FOR THE TYPE OF ROOM WE HAD. AMENITIES NOT COVERED SO WHAT FEES DID I PAY FOR? PARKING WAS ALWAYS FULL AND HAD TO FIND OTHER PARKING OR WAIT FOR A CAR TO LEAVE. I WILL NEVER USE THIS HOTEL OR ANY ASSOCIATED RESORT HOTEL WITH TRADE WINDS IN THE NAME..Tradewinds Resort Response

As the Director of Guest Satisfaction, please accept my apologies for any misunderstanding you may have had. I'll provide a brief explanation. The reservation made by you was through a third party wholesaler / Expedia. As with all other third party reservations, room types and dates are confirmed, as well as the disclosed amenities fees that are applicable. This fee includes; overnight parking, two person beach cabana ( charge for front row only ) high tide slide, surf wipeout, fitness center, touch tank experience, pool and towels, paddleboats, and more. Our property is not all inclusive, as any motorized water activities in the Gulf, and the Floating Water Park are based on availability and fees applicable. Our website and registration information clearly provided this to you. As far as the room type and bedding, king beds are available by request only. This was only identified after your call to the front desk, which we indeed were able to accommodate for you. Regarding BlueGreen Vacations, this is a separate entity from TradeWinds of which any transactions or business procedures would be re-directed as necessary.
If I could be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Thank you for the response. When reserving I was on your website and was not told I reserved through expedia but another company. I take ownership as I should have asked. Now as for the front desk check-in process. I was told i had to go over to the other desk (BlueGreen) to get my parking pass. I was than told that the slides where additional charges and the cabanas we have to reserve for a cost. Nothing in details to what you are saying. When your front desk sent me over to that other desk you are aware that you are having all customers go to this sale desk to get our parking pass. Why would Blue Green have our parking pass? As for you website I called the number on the website and when they answered they stated thank you for calling Trade Winds "Island Blah blah resort) now if they would have answered the phone as thank you for calling expedia as I never use a third party company and also reserve directly. Last room 6220 bed needs to be replaced it is un-comfortable and older. I still stand behind my decision to not stay with trade winds and been told that certain free amenities were at extra cost. Second I was charge more than the $110.+ for the fees. Can you tell me why? I got charged and extra +46 on my credit cardTradewinds Resort Response

Good afternoon,
Upon further review of your statement, all charges are correct in the total amount of $110.74 which covers the resort amenity fees. Typically, any additional perceived charges otherwise would be "authorizations" which show up as pending. However, I don't see anything of such, and sent the statement to you via email indicating such.
The process of retrieving your parking pass and wristbands, which identify you as a registered guest, is attributed to the BlueGreen Vacation Club, which has a limited supply of room inventory available for their participants. I apologize for any miscommunication of information provided, and will definitely correct this with proper training.
Thank you,

I am really disappointed in the staff and room we had. While I understand they were under construction in my building: the halls were hotter than outside, the staff was rude/unhelpful, and our room was sub par. Our shower did not work. I had to contact maintenance to fix it. It was eventually fixed, which I do appreciate. The bathroom door had severe water damage/ rot. It was clearly not being kept up. They also wanted to pitch me their Bluegreen resorts, failed to confirm appointments. Then when I called to confirm Friday PM front desk was rude. I called to get scheduled the next day and they rescheduled me four times before cancelling outright. That is not how they should treat a prospective buyer. Completely unprofessional and they wasted my time on my vacation.... The guest services manager was not sympathetic to any of the above issues when i asked to speak with him professionally as to how these issues reflected poorly upon the resort and and Bluegreen as a company. I watched another man berate an employee to a point I nearly intervened and he got rewarded with drink coupons and vouchers. While I got nothing barely even an acknowledgment that they provided me with subpar vacation experience. The pool and the beach were all I can honestly say I enjoyed... The vacation to celebrate my engagement was only saved by the off site activities I booked for us. I would not recommend if you are looking for being treated with respect and expecting polite service with well kept rooms.Tradewinds Resort Response

As the Director of Guest Satisfaction for the TradeWinds Island Resorts, we have reviewed extensively the concerns mentioned in this review. Provided is a brief summary of our findings. Upon registration, you identified yourself as a BlueGreen Vacations Club owner. Unfortunately, this was not the case, as your reservation had been made through an owner which is in violation of policy and procedure. In attempt to attend a sales presentation, it was then that this was discovered. Therefore the rescheduling of the presentation, of which had to be cancelled as you did not meet the qualifications required. Furthermore, the concern of the shower was simple operation of the shower control valve / knob itself. And yes, it was I that you spoke to regarding your concerns, of which I apologized at the time, which were causally discussed, and absolutely no acknowledgement of you celebrating an engagement.
If I could be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Thank you,

I did not say I was an owner at any point. I did tell check in staff that my parents were. I verified I was not an owner during all previous calls. As well as discussed meeting all of the potential owner qualifications. This was vetted weeks in advance for both my partner and I. They had about two weeks to figure out a plan or let me know of a change. I wasted and entire day.
I did tell check in that I was on my engagement celebration as well as the precall screening. The shower knob was not functioning to the point i was going to break it if I tried any harder. Bottom line is I was not given the time of day or respect I feel is deserved by a potential member. I even brought up concerns for how other members of your staff were treated by guests when I spoke with you. I also mentioned when i watched people berate your staff and get free nights and drink coupons and my concerns for this. Nevertheless, I have not portrayed the issues above in any light but the truth. I never said I was an owner at any point which is a lie. Also, i mentioned this to my family and they are very disappointed in the way I was treated.Review from Jennifer W

Reserved and confirmed through Expedia. Received email stating different dates available, and to let him know if it works. It didn't work for me so I did not reply. 3 days later received cancellation email. I inquired why and received a quite rude reply by Property Manager. No person-skills whatsoever, brash and tactless. His replies to me in quotes: "Yes I tried to inform you day of, what kind of person doesn't respond right way until there is an issue? Next time respond faster. I sent you a message as soon as you booked it I wasn't able to do it. Next time communicate and pay attention ********!", and "My job isn't stressful at all, I love what I do. I sorry you didn't infer from my message that I didn't have you available check in date. Why would I message you, about a different date if I had you check in date available. Sorry your so oblivious you couldn't get that hint. You have a great life as well, ********."
I am a caregiver who has worked 7 days a week for nearly 3 years and this was my get-away birthday weekend, but alas, this Property Manager is a callous human being and Tradewinds should be embarrassed by such a representative with the words and tone he chose to use towards me.Tradewinds Resort Response

As the Director of Guest Satisfaction for the TradeWinds Island Resorts, I'm sorry to hear of your concerns, which were not through a representative of TradeWinds Island Resorts. Your communications were through a third party vendor / wholesaler in attempt to make a reservation for which the dates there was no availability. It is always suggested to contact the property directly to ensure this exact situation does not happen. We have requested additional information from the wholesaler, of which they declined to provide any assistance or information otherwise.

Was told that any quest that did not attend the wedding, their food would be boxed and sent to our room. We had eight guests that did not show up, their food was never boxed and sent to our room. I was told the kitchen was closed now and they did not know what to do with the food for the guest that did not attend. On Monday I was told that it was due to health regulations, which is not what I was told prior to our wedding day, yet the half-eaten dinner that sat on our table for an hour, that they boxed and sent to our room, but the food that was never plated and brought out to the table, that they did not box. One thousand dollars' worth of food that I had been told for months would be boxed and sent to our room to take home for any guest that did not show up, we were utterly shocked and very upset. I was told that they would look into and call me back and they never did. I am requesting a full reimbursement for the eight meals that they promised would be boxed and sent to our room. Many items from our reception were thrown out, the help that was supposed to be given was late and not at the full amount they said. Very disappointed.
