On Tuesday Dec 5, 2023 I contacted the above laundry service. she quoted me a price per **** and told me that 20lbs of laundry was $20. I weighed my laundry at home on a medical grade scale. it weighed 19lbs INCLUDING the bags laundry was in-well under 20lbs. Imagine my surprise when ********* said i had 37lbs of laundry and owed her *****. She put through two charges on venmo 14 Dec, 23. She used bait and switch tacticts and called me a liar; she tried very hjard to intimidate me. i have all texts that i would be more than willing to foward. She uses deception and intimidation to get what she wants. this is the worst business ive everhad the displeasure to use in two years in ***********.Business response

Tell us why here...Tell us why here...Hello, *************** to a BBB complaint received via email today (12/12/2023), regarding a new customer by the name of ***********************. Mrs. ****** solicited our wash/dry/fold services requesting a small business. ****************** who is the laundromat owner received the initial call and he provided me her contact # at 10:07am on 12/4/2023.
I initially reached out to ****** at 10:28am on 12/4/2023 providing our company name, location and thanked her for inquiring about our service. Her first response was, "HI it's ******. Can you go any cheaper? At **** 30 lbs is going to be $50 I'll just walk to washateria for that price. I'm super poor. Loser drunk husband went to work in ******** and left me no $ no car. **" end of initial quote in text response.
I comforted her in my next reply, and I asked her was she a residential or commercial client. I shared we pride ourselves in assisting our community with quality and economically affordable services.
Basically she shared she was a residential service and that she hadn't done laundry in a couple weeks including having a sick dog and lots of linens.
I provided our service days to include times; our residential services start at $1.25 per lb with a $10 pickup/delivery service fee. Due to the nature of her financial situation she disclosed and our continued communication I waived the pickup/delivery fee, and shared that I had a base fee or flat rate service of only $20 for all services weighed in 20lbs or less. I also gave her the amount of the 30 lbs she initially disclosed would only be $37.50. ****** thanked me for the information and we agreed upon picking up her service the following day on 12/5/2023.
******'s service was picked up on Tuesday, 12/5/2023 about 11am, two bags were received including a small plastic that obtained items she didn't want dried. About 3pm I returned her service ahead of her requested turnaround time (don't need same day). When I called her phone to inform her of the expedited turnaround time she answered and then hung up saying, she needed to call me back. I continued enroute to deliver her completed service prior of receiving payment in hopes to lift her spirits regarding all her circumstances and as I was exciting her home, she opened her door noticing the returned service, Thanked me a said, "I'm going to use you all the time (with a thumb ???? up gesture)."
Once her completed laundry service was delivered ****** avoided any further calls and text messages. I texted her the amount due and asked how she'd be paying. No response. I texted from the time of dropoff up until 7:20pm without any further responses from ******. My messages disclosed I felt like she was avoiding me, each attempt I called her phone was disconnected because she'd answer and hang up. I shared if she didn't pay within 24 hours I'd file a report for theft of my business.
****** finally responded at 1:10am on Wednesday, 12/7/2023. ****** thanked me again, "The laundry is perfect...." she then shared about the laundry weighing under 20 lbs on her scale and how could it be a **** lb difference in weight on my scale. I provided her the photos of each bag I picked up from her on our certified scale weighing a total of 2**** lbs (**** + *****) x's $1.25 per lb.
After I shared the photos she stated, "I'm going to pay. ..." she paid me through a venmo app that I was never registered with. Once I complied with the registration the amount reflected $0. I requested the amount due of $36.50, but only received $35.71. I accepted the payment and satisfied her invoice. ****** later contacted me on 12/11/2023 saying, I charged her twice. There's no way I could've charged her twice on an app that she has control of how the funds are distributed. I only transferred the amount I disclosed and got off the app on 12/6/2023. I restored the app after her accusations and returned the additional amount of $36.50 that was sitting in the venmo account. I provided her proof of all activity and stated her accusations were unfair and incorrect. I gave **************************** and quality service, and I find this complaint as slanderous, fraudulent and defamation of my character and pain and suffering to me and my business. I have ran a beautiful 3 years in service in business and have never faced such accusations as this. Mrs. ****** said, her laundry was perfect and turnaround and defy the nature. Please reconcile these allegations because there's no error on my part. Her service was completed, returned and supposed additional payment she released was returned as soon as I learned that it was in the app.
