I went to the Ortho Specialist of Florida in ************, ** to have braces put on. I paid my monthly payments and they were also paid by my insurance company. I developed gingivitis and was told that my braces needed to be removed in order for this to be taken care of. Unfortunately the office closed permanently and I have not been able to get anyone to help me with my issue. I called the 800 number and was told my information was transferred to another office with a number of ************.. I been trying to reach them for months and have left messages with no call back. Its been almost a year since Ive seen an orthodontist to care for my braces, because NO ONE will remove the braces or I have to pay $500-700 to have them removed. Im a college student and dont have this type of money. I dont think its fair that this company was compensated by the insurance and myself to provide a service and now I cant receive any help at all. I never received any information to let me know who Im supposed to see to continue treatment with and I just been getting the same misinformation for a year now. The least this company can do is refer me some where to have the braces removed at no cost or refund me the money I paid out of pocket so I can have them removed. The complaint is against the entire company they Have numerous locations. The location I use to visit was Gateway Orthodontist Specialist in ************, **. The location closed without notice, so I been contacting the corporate office who been providing me with the information to the dental office and Dr that I listed in my original complaint. I still havent heard from anyone at that clinic. I saw a different doctor every time I went to the Gateway location for a visit, so I cannot remember any specific names

My son *********************** had been seeing an orthodontist at this facility and everything was going great. I ended up losing my job and running into financial issues which lead me to being unable to make monthly payments for his braces. In the middle of his treatment plan they changed doctor and ended up creating a new treatment plan. We had already paid $1300 towards the original treatment plan and now they wanted us to pay more money plus whatever we owed from the first treatment plan. I obviously couldn't afford that but they went ahead and saw my son and tightened his braces but without doing any exams or **ray. Mind you he hasn't been to the office for over 3 months because they refused to see him without payment. When they told me how much more money I would have to pay I decided to look for a different orthodontist and continue treatment with them. When they did the **ray they found bone loss and infection. they recommended that we remove the braces immediately. Now they sent me to collections for $750.00. I am ready to report them to the ************************ for maltreatment but I'm willing not to report them if they forgive the balance and remove me from collections.Business response

My son was seen for a free consultation. After the consultation we were told he needed braces but they needed a form filled out from my sons dentist. We had the paper faxed over multiple times each time they said they didnt receive it. I asked for a refund because I paid them 139$ to start the process for my son to get his braces. It was never started and they stayed it was for the first month of braces but he never had the braces put on.Business response

My resolution is as follows:
I would like to offer a complete refund of $139.
I have put that through to my accounting department.
The refund will be issued and mailed within 30 days.

My 16 year old daughter has had her braces off now for two months and they keep giving us the run around on getting the already paid for retainer. Today they proceeded to yell at me and then hang up. There's so much more to this story but there isn't enough space for me to tell. I'm having to run her triple the distance to do scan after scan because they can't do it near our home where the rest of the treatment was done. I just want answers or enough money back to purchase this retainer from another company.Business response

Dr. S _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hello, I looked into the patient complaint and I resolved the issue. It is our Fleming Island patient Laila Pitts and mom was unhappy about our scanning issues. I called and explained to mom that the mix-up with our scans was out of our control and that by the time Dynaflex informed us that the scans had to be redone, it had been some time. I also let the mom know that screaming and hanging up on her and getting back to her a month later was already taken care of...(I already spoke to the person responsible) and apologized for any inconvenience. I scheduled mom in Fleming Island and made her a priority. I let the mom know that I will be here in the office that day and I will make sure everything goes smoothly and she will be our top priority and will be taken care of. Mom was happy with that and now is on good terms with us. I let the mom know that if there are any other issues, she can always reach out to me first and I will take care of her and her daughter. I have tried calling on Thursday, November 18 at 1:48pm and also again today Tuesday, November 23 at 3:56pm regarding a final notice that was sent to me via email at 10:01pm on Wednesday, November 17. I have been trying to correct this issue because there seems to have been a mix up on the businesses end. They claim that I have 10 days to respond and trying to fix the issue before being sent to collections BUT THEY HAVE BEEN HARD TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SINCE I HAVE TRIED TRANSFERRING. I have NEVER received any prior notices via mail, email nor have I received any telephone calls regarding payment or bills of any sort. The last time I have communicated with someone was in early and mid August when I again was trying to get in touch with someone from their office regarding having my records transferred and again nothing was communicated with me about a bill. Prior to me moving out of the state I've tried to get everything squared away with them. I was set up on autopay and have always paid my bills that were brought to my attention. There was again no mention of payment after asking several times before my departure and after. I really need someone to please give me a call because this issue needs to be resolved and I need to see why there is mention of sending me to collections and impacting my credit history.Business response

The Orthodontics Specialist of Florida- the San Jose Blvd location. Change out many orthodontics and customer service representatives where no one is communicating with each other. My son only had 2-3 appointments I paid over a $1000.00 and we decided since we were not made aware of his orthodontist leaving that we will not continue on with the new orthodontist, who stated his braces needed to be removed nothing else can be done for him. Then I stated I will just go with another facility and spoke to a customer service representative a week later making them aware to make sure we are not on the schedule she stated that this orthodontist has left as well and he would be with another if I did get it removed well I clearly stated remove us and she stated there will be no charge since that charge was for the braces being removed. Now months later the business is sending a final notice. I have spoken to a desk clerk by the name of Dawn, who stated she is the new manager, who I have spokenBusiness response
