on 2/10/22 Custom Pool and Spa began work on our pool to fix an issue behind the existing pool tile that was causing rust to seep through the tiles, strip off the existing pool tile in entire pool and replace entire pool with new tiles. The Process was not a smooth one, the Tiles were installed crooked, cracked tiles were installed etc etc. Custom Pool and Spa fixed most of the issues but when we contacted them about remaining tile issues they demanded final payment or would enforce a mechanics lien against us. I paid final balance and had to live with the sub par work. NOW, the rust is beginning behind the NEW tiles in the area they fixed. They sent out a technician to investigate it on 9/2/22 and for 2 weeks we heard nothing. On 9/20/22 I called to see when they would address the issue and they said " we will no longer do business with you because of hoe you treat our employees, we suggest you get a lawyer". The cost to repair this problem is at least $2400-$3000 depending how much tile needs to be removed. I do not have the money to pay for this as i am disabled and on disability. This is a terrible way to treat people. We were nothing but hospitable to their employees and even gave them restaurant gift cards. We trusted this company and paid them alot of money and true to their reviews on other sites they have been dismissive, liars and threatening to us.

************** is assuming L&M don't do pool tile and renovations, because he is looking at a dated business card.

We personally plastered 2 of their pool jobs. They prep and install pool tile. ************** has been difficult to work with and we have

tried to make the repairs needed. We have purchased the tile. He is not letting us make the repair. We are considering this case closed and

will turn this over to our attorney's office.

      Thank you

      Complaint: 18057411

I am rejecting this response because:  As much as ***************** of Custom Pool & Spa Mechanics considers my wife and I difficult for insisting on seeing a valid license and Insurance to do pool work from L&M elite Services, I am only asking for what any consumer can and should ask for from a contractor to do work at their home/pool. This is not based soley on a dated business card as ***************** states, If ************* of L&M ***** services had a valid license and Insurance he would have produced it by now. Just because ***************** did plaster work for ************* does not make L&M ***** Services Licensed. Unfortunately ***************** chooses to consider this case closed because i do not agree to risk having an unlicensed contractor further damage our pool. I consider his position unacceptable

      Sincerely,

      *******************
