On 11/3/2023 I had signed paperwork to have my shingles replaced and flat roof section replaced for my home. The work began in December before Christmas. The work on the roof was complete before Christmas but there was still a need to complete the wall tie-in with the roof. I called to setup the final stucco replacement and was told they would send someone out but contractors were unavailable due to the Christmas/New Year holiday. I had spoken to my roofing contractor several times during this scheduling, and was not made aware there would be any additional cost from this work. Job wraps up and I receive an additional $3200 bill for "Stucco and Paint." I called them and they were understanding of my situation and sought to rectify, however their proposed solution was to take off $1K and bring the additional bill to $2200. After much discussion/research I called to offer $1000 based on the work performed and they told me several "facts" about the additional stucco/paint that do not add up. I am seeking to have my $2200 bill reduced, as I took no part in the discussion of such work and was not included in the pricing analysis of such work.1. There was no discussion with me prior about Stucco/Paint quoting and was not made aware of the need for a change order and an added bill until after services were rendered. In the contract it is stated: *If any woodwork is needed, a change order will need to be approved and signed by the homeowner. - I did not know there was a change order being processed in the background, I would believe they should reach out to me - per the contract.2. The change order called out "Stucco and Paint" yet the owner was very clear that I was being charged for only stucco, not paint, yet when they said I'm getting the price he was given from stucco contractor (Dr ******** I can see paint included in the 3rd party contractor's quote so I asked for further clarity in what I was being charged for and did not get a breakdown that added up.
