On 8th Feb 2023 I completed an application online to rent a condo managed by Welleby Shores Condo Association, a sub association of Welleby Management Association, Inc. The application packet indicated a screening interview was required and I was planning on moving from out of state. As such, my Realtor began reaching out to find out if my interview could be done via Zoom or another method. We did not hear back after multiple calls, voicemails, etc. I received several calls from a third party doing my background check. I had supplied months of my paystubs, my bank statement, proof of employment, previous rental / ownership history, credit score, personal reference, etc and everything checked out. I was more than qualified to rent this 2 bedroom condo. I signed a lease with the owner, putting first month's rent in escrow, and continued following up, emailing ***** Management to check on status as well. I finally received an email on Wednesday Feb 22 saying that I had to do the in-person interview on Saturday Feb 25 prior to being approved to move-in on March 1, 2023. I find it ridiculous to rely on an interview on the last Saturday of the month, leaving any prospective resident only 1-2 business days to get utilities set up, mail forwarded, finalize moving plans, etc after already having received all the financial / personal information needed to decide if theyre an acceptable resident. This is simply a chance to reject applicants on no other basis than their RACE, creed, the way they talk, etc. Even if I was not moving from out of state via auto train, going to an in-person interview at the destination a few days before actual move-in is insane as it would require you to get a hotel just for this interview. This is a racket plain and simple. All they have to do is take the application fee of $150 + $50 + convenience fee (even though none of this is convenient) and not answer the questions raised by professional REALTORS and they have nothing to lose.Business response

Good afternoon,
This complaint is addressed to the wrong party.
Welleby Shores Condo is a sub-association of Welleby Management. However, Welleby Management has nothing to do with the sub-associations application and interview process.
