We own the property across the street from the house they are building. They were continuously blocking our mailbox (Federal Offense), they were asked multiple times to remove the vehicles from in front of the mailbox, and on the last verbal exchange, their worker told us to move our mailbox. Today, they defaced our mailbox (Federal Offense up to $250,000,00.) with cement sprayed all over it, while blocking it for the entire day, our mail was not picked up, nor did we get a delivery. Their vehicles have worn a deep rut in front of the mailbox, so we have to step down into it (sometimes filled with water and wet cement) in order to retrieve our mail. We have had no other choice but to report to ****************** and Code Enforcement. We tried to let them know the laws, but they continue to do as they please. This is not a reputable company!! Other builders park the vehicles at the end of the block in front of the *****, this is a small street, and apparently, they know the laws! It never had to come to this, what an inconsiderate company!

      Business response

It is true that the lady is across the street to the new construction that we are developing and unfortunately in this city the mailbox of all the houses is on one side of that street, and that, is our side

With this response it is the second time we have responded to the concern or complaint of the same lady.

The first time we told her that it was difficult to work from the corners of the block, that it is difficult to park, and we made excuses with her by letting him know that we would not park in front of his mailbox again considering it is in our lot.

On this occasion the only thing I can express is that once finished we will paint the mailbox and leave it in excellent condition for its correct use.

It is not possible to carry out the work as she asks us to do, parking almost on the corner of the block. We always cooperate with all the neighbors but as you well know we have to continue working with large trucks at the job site until the work is completed. and finally in the photo you can see that the mailbox has water inside our lot, not on the side of that sreet where she needs to receive her correspondence.

I am rejecting this response because: My mailbox although on their side of street, it is on an easement owned by the ****************, not them. The **************** Buidling code enforcement has been there to tell them not to block my mailbox and told us to call the local police department every time they do it, and they can receive a fine as it is a federal offense to block a mailbox. The only conversation that ever took place was one guy telling us to move our mailbox, and the owner of the house telling me he would have the city remove my mailbox, which will not happen, and the city building inspector laughed at the idea. The concrete was purposefully blown onto the mailbox, and paint is not going to fix it, they need to replace the mailbox with a new mailbox. There are plenty of places for them to park their vehicles, other than in front of my mailbox, but the police and the **************** are going to handle that aspect of my complaint moving forward. I have an all-in-one mailbox, green in color, I expect the same replacement.

      Sincerely,

      *********************************
