Requested for plumber to come out to view, look (with camera) and they didn't do as requested but tried to charge excessive charge for something I didn't approve them to do.Business response

To Whom It May Concern,
We (Lance Maxwell Plumbing) recently received notice of a complaint filed to the Better Business Bureau by;

This customer, as she stated, requested that we (Lance Maxwell Plumbing) come out to camera her sewer line ($220 fee including labor) because it was backed up. It was explained to her that it is not possible to camera a line that is backed up, without first clearing the stoppage. Upon arrival our plumber cleared the stoppage in preparation to camera the line, as Ms. ***** requested. After clearing the blockage, and before putting a camera in the line, our plumber was informed by Ms. ***** that she would not be paying for the service trip because she only wanted it camera’d. It was explained to her before preforming any work that we would have to clear the blockage before we could camera, and there was no rebuttal until after the blockage had been cleared. This is when she informed the plumber on site that she would not be paying for his service.
Furthermore, Ms. ***** has not paid the bill as of today, 4/13/23, but has requested that we refund her. It is not possible to refund an invoice that has not been paid.
It should be noted that we only invoiced ($178) Ms. ***** for clearing the blockage and a sewer machine rental. She was charged less than the requested work would have cost.
In conclusion, This customer called us out for a service call, was informed of the work that would be performed, and refused to pay the bill for said work.
