I was involved in an accident on 6/2/2024 in Tampa, Florida, and my vehicle was towed by a company named Tommy's Towing. The accident occurred at Busch Blvd and Nebraska Avenue. Their location is located on Nebraska Ave and Hollywood St. Approximately 0.9 miles away. The driver told me I could come get my belongings in the morning because the business is closed. So in the morning I went and got my belongings and was told that I had 2 options; option 1. Keep my vehicle and pay the whole towing fee, which came to nearly $400.00, and have the car towed away. Mind you this is the very next day, and they already had my rear back wheel off, the brake components, and rotor, so that wasn't a option, being that they were already parting out my car. Option 2; Sign my title over to them and pay $190.00, which is roughly half of the towing fee. I chose option 2 because the car was severely damaged, and option 1 was basically not an option. So I returned the next day, which was the 4th with $210.00 dollars (I had to pay for an extra day, that's why it was $210.00 instead of $190.00) and my title. I paid them the money and gave them the title, and they gave me a receipt. When I looked at the receipt, it had a totally different vehicles name on the receipt, and the Vin number was illegible. I said, "I can't accept this receipt because it doesn't have my vehicles information on it, and should there be an issue later, I would have no proof that I paid you. This is when the lady got upset and said "Hey my driver wrote the receipt. He's hispanic and can't read or write English well, OK. I looked at her like she was crazy and said, "What does that have to do with me?". So I said forget it, give me back my title and my money. So she throws my title at me and says, "we're putting a lien on your license. I said, "Because I want a properly written receipt that says I paid?
