At first I was being told by the company that I did not need a permit, and they never pull permits for their FL Bath customers, but the City of ************* informed me that I did need one. They finally agreed to pull a permit, and permit CBLDR-0424-***** was issued 4/17/24 for an acrylic shower/pan/drain installation. I paid $3000 as a down payment. The company used a private provider. On Saturday, 4/27/24 upon arrival of the installers, I inquired if one of them was also the inspector and was told the installers would video the the inspections and send them to the inspector for approvals as they were needed. I never saw a video being done and never received a copy of such video. At the end of the day, the installer told me the final inspection needed to be done on a weekday since the private provider does not work weekends. I don't believe any inspections were done. I have a text from the installer that shows I did not have the final inspection done, and CMK Construction is telling me the inspections are done although nobody ever came back to my home for the final inspection, and the city is still showing the permit open due to numerous inspections still not done. I have explained that I cannot take out a loan for the $7000 balance until the permit is closed, minus the vanity that was not installed due to them damaging it. The vanity is $360 to have installed by another contractor. MANNY AT ************ IS NOW THREATENING TO PUT A LEIN ON MY HOME if I do not approve the loan for $7000. I feel the work is not done if the permit is not completed so I should not be paying the balance until it is. I also feel I should have an invoice without the installation fee they agreed to. The City of ********************************* has told me they have informed the outstanding permits, and if the permit is not closed it will expire and I must pay to have the permit re-opened as the owner/builder accepting all liability and responsibility before the home could be sold.Thank you for your assistance.
