  I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with this door manufacturer. Not only were the doors of subpar quality, but they were also full of major issues that made the entire experience horrendous. To start, the door-knob hole sizes were too all, making it impossible to install them as intended. When I brought this up to them, they said it was impossible because its a standard hole size theyd never get wrong, until the salesman came to my house and saw it for himself. Moreover, the edges on the 3-panel shaker doors were rough and unsanded, clearly lacking any attention to detail- which I needed my GC to refinish every door. On top of all this, the doors were not even the correct width! Its unacceptable to receive such poorly finished products. I would never recommend this company, as they have demonstrated a complete disregard for quality control and customer satisfaction.

  I contacted Masonite about warranty work and the person they sent over wasn't a licensed contractor and just made the situation worse. They refuse to send someone else so I guess I'll have to fix it myself.

  In *****, ***'t buy prehung doors. You'll spend more time trying to make them work than it would be to cut the jambs and mount the hinges yourself. I certainly won't be buying Masonite again. Quality control is some of the poorest I've seen. I bought 6 interior prehung doors from **********. Had to go through about 15 doors to find 6 ones that didn't have damage to the visible door face and that I thought were useable. Bought them, took them home and started to install. All the issues below could not have been seen before purchase because of the packaging. Hinges aren't visible and doors cannot open due to strapping and plastic lock alignment piece. Out of the 6, 4 of them had issues including staples blown through the joint (covered up by the packaging), screws not seated into the hinge (skewed 30deg), hinge pockets on the doors being different depths top to bottom which required shimming at the top and cutting deeper at the bottom, and the hinge pockets in the frame being skewed top to bottom by up to 3/32 so the door binds at the bottom and has near an 1/8in gap at the top. On top of that, I'd expect at least solid wood at the hinge location on the door but it's poor quality mdf that can be cut like paper with a knife.

  If I could give ZERO stars, I would. We purchased our Masonite "Fiberglass" doors when we built our home. They have a LIFETIME warranty. We currently had an issue where the main French door broke apart at the bottom from rotting on the inside. These doors are not subject to any weather they are under patio. We also checked our back single entry door that we never even use, and it was the same exact way. After many calls to the store we purchased from, they told us it's Masonites issue. They will not do anything, they won't respect the warranty at all or call back after several times. We are not happy with the doors or the customer service from either place, but especially the manufacturer MASONITE.

  I purchased new exterior front doors that were manufactured by Advisar. A little after a year, I came home one night and had a buckled area near the top. I wiped it with my hand and it came off like dried shoe polish. I got a microfiber cloth and moistened it with water to wipe it and was stunned by what I saw. When contacting Advisar, they went radio silent. These were over $10,000! I guess I should have done more research. Lesson learned! Avoid this company at all costs. Things can go wrong with anything. But when a company doesn’t take responsibility and make it right, it’s unforgivable!

  I purchased a Masonite exterior door from Lowes, Lowes gave me a 20% discount on the door due to scratches in the door. (I was having installed next day and the only 2 available had either the scratches or dents) I have the door installed and realized the poor quality of the door. Nails shot visibly through corner of casing, and hinge screws shot on angles. I reached out to Masonite on Jan.17 after being told by their help line to file a warranty claim. I did that. Took all the pictures and sent them. Thier site states a rep will be in contact within 3 days. On the 25th I call them, speak with Mary who tells me that Lowes gave me misinformation. She stated that the discount i got for the scratches voided my warranty. First off, Lowes never told me to file a claim. Masonite did. Second she told me my Lowes salesman should have been in touch with me. For What? Your website states that your reps would reach out. Lowes salesman did not build the door...Its a quality issue with the company. Unprofessional, and totally unsatisfied with the door quality and the people handling thier concerns.
