I received a final bill from TECO energy on 6/26/24 stating I owe $272 for 16 days of the month. I moved out of that townhome and no one was living in the unit, so I was expecting little to none of a final bill for ***** For the month of May while I lived in the unit, the bill was $140. I asked HOW this doubled, for less time, while no one lived in the house. They said thats what it is, theres nothing they will do. I escalated, got passed around between employees, spent 4 hours of my day while having a manager *********, who agreed it could have been a meter reading issue and it does not seem right, to be told we will not credit or accommodate you. I refuse to pay this bill as its clear as day there is an issue on TECOS end. Even the teco bill states this is 240% MORE than last June and any other month ever while I was living there. I am demanding they write off and close out this final bill on my account, and that their management employees, specifically *********, seriously be re-trained and held accountable for their terrible customer service and inability to assist and resolve issues and escalations.
