****** is a liar who should have his contractor license taken away.He let a funreliable handyman use his name and license to renovate our house in ***** and it was a nightmare. The handyman deserted the project less than halfway through after major cost overruns and issues of his own making. Then, we had to actually pay for the renovation all over again to have ******************* ************************* finish the project. ************************* deserted us also after taking a bunch of our money and not finishing the work as contractually agreed to. At this point the City of ***** was involved and fining us left and right and making us redo the work done by various subcontractors. All of this done with ******'s full involvement. The guy probably got a cut every time we had to pay to redo work. It was horrible. We finally kicked them all off the project and got it done. Spent twice as long and three times as much. Nightmare. Horrible people, all of them. DO NOT HIRE ********************* OR *************************.Review from Trevor N

Writes bad checks to subcontractors with no intention of making things right. When you put a lien on the properties of the jobs you did, his paralegal will go on social media to write bad reviews about you like you're the bad guy. Probably the most unprofessional thing I have ever experienced as a contractor. Protect yourself and don't make a silly mistake by hiring somebody like this. If you're a sub, RUN!Review from Christine S

Very poor company. Bought a house that they did and since buying it have replaced every component including roof, floors, ceiling, water heater, dishwasher, much of the plumbing, tenting for termites, AC and some of the electrical still does not work. They claim to have a warranty but anything they come out to check out, they make much worse.Review from Tinos M

This is one of the worst companies I have dealt with in all years of remodeling. They never followed through with any promises to complete 2 projects. After months and months and months of pushing, paying, babysitting they are still not done and now are just dodging calls. Our next step is to hire an attorney to recoup as much cost as we can. These guys may start out ok, but will absolutely drop the ball and leave you hanging. Extremely unprofessional. Awful, stay away!Review from Jay M

I hired Robert O. with Ossi Construction in December 2021 for the renovation of an investment property in Tampa, FL. We agreed to a contract which allowed for 120 days for completion. Once renovation started the issues began. -Installed Non-Impact windows in an Impact Zone. -Installed entirely different flooring than agreed upon. -Removed an attic to create vaulted ceilings failing to allow for duct work before drywalling. Ended up adding a mini split to cool and heat the area. -Failed to inform me that the house had been previously wired with Aluminum Wiring. He just connected any new wiring to the existing aluminum. This ended up costing me a sale and required the home to be completely rewired to put back on the market. -Installed a kitchen island too close to the fridge resulting in a less than adequate area to open the doors. -Framed out the toilet room too small and didn't center the toilet correctly before tiling the room. -Installed bathroom vanities with the quartz countertops before realizing none of the drawers and cabinets would open properly due to incorrect installation. Didn't factor sink drains before install. -None of the newly installed interior doors closed properly. -Siding installed incorrectly in areas which needed to be fixed. -Tile work installed incorrectly resulting in the grout falling off the walls. -Interior painting was sub par and needed to be repainted. -More to list but running out of allowed characters!! I ended up FIRING Mr Ossi after he failed to show up and complete the job in the agreed upon time. I made the mistake of paying him along the way. I just needed it completed. He tried to come to me with a change order bill of $35K that included most of the items already in the initial contract. I gave him an additional 30 days and he wasn't close to completion. I had to hire another contractor to come in and fix all of his repeated mistakes and complete the job. I want to make others aware before hiring Ossi Construction!

$790,000 Sold on 11/10/22 Zestimate®: $796,100
This investor paid less than $550,00 and spent less than $120,000 with me. Not a bad payday.
I had told him from the beginning he would have no trouble selling the home for around $800,000.
I know he will never admit it, but terminating our employment because we were running a couple of months late for completion was a financial mistake on his part. These remodels often have hidden items that need to be dealt with methodically.
I also admit that I stay extremely busy. I can hardly keep up with all the word of mouth referrals I get consistently every year.
Ossi Construction, Inc. has always finished what we ever started even if we are a couple of months late in the process.
This client now realizes what it takes to handle all the challenges of what a GC goes thru every day and spent another alleged $50,000 in the process instead of paying his final $30,000 of the contract amount and allowing my company to finish.
Maybe now he can truly appreciate what I do for a living on a daily basis.
He brought it upon himself to get impatient and greedy during the time properties became stupidly inflated in an unheard of way.
These particular clients need to try to exercise a little more patience and not be so fixated on the all mighty buck.
I have worked for many investors and house flippers over the years and was never let go before final completion.
I will take my 36 years of experience as a Certified Class A General Contractor and move on to more appreciative clients.Customer Response

Mr ***** ignorance and incompetence is on display with his response. The amount paid to his company was greater than what he mentioned and hes not accounting for the additional expenses that far exceed his initial contract. I would gladly speak with anyone and share any photos of the quality of work performed by this company. A few of the photos actually show *********** trying to make excuses for the work. *********** shouldnt have a contractors license in the ****************. I have reached out to the State about looking into his business. Im definitely not the first person to get swindled by ***********. I hope anyone who takes the time to research his company will read this along with the other complaints filed and think twice about hiring Ossi Construction.Review from Joseph R

When a builder like OSSI Construction in Tampa misrepresents themselves as to their abilities, demands a down payment and 7 months pass and they fail to secure a permit because of incompetence, they are committing a second-degree felony under 489.126 of the Florida Statutes. Yes, file a complaint with AG Office, DBPR and have their license revoked. Ask for the maximum fines and punitive damages via your attorney. Of course, I disagree with this homeowners interpretation of my character.
I never demand a down payment. I do secure a deposit for permitting fees and material such a roof trusses.
I have secured a thousand permits in my career so I am not incompetent in this regard.
I do not embezzle or commit civil theft.
I have various emails showing my continued involvement in trying to secure what should have been a simple residential permit.
Initially, we were supplying any drawings needed, but Joseph R had us credit him back, I believe, $3,500 and had taken on the responsibility to provide the drawings necessary to secure a permit.
We waited until the drawings were completed and then proceeded to apply for a permit in Hernando County.
My application was rejected several times after the reviews with comments which ultimately should come under the design professional's responsibility and not the General Contractor.
I reached out to Joe’s design team and they provided architectural drawings only. They were not a civil engineering firm and a site and drainage plan were asked for.
I proceeded to take it upon myself after travelling up to Hernando County Building Department with my project manager to talk to the permit tech and she provided me a packet to fill out.
It had four generic drainage plans and you were supposed to submit the one that applied to your site conditions.
I then needed a survey which I converted into a site plan.
I admit it was a costly time consuming learning experience for myself and the client.
I felt like I was in the bottom of the ninth inning when I reached out to Shawn with All City Permits who ultimately got me with Camila to see if together we could finally secure a permit.
That was just about the same time as I received a letter from Joe’s attorney terminating my services.
At that point, I listed all the financial summaries and offered the difference after expenses and never heard anything back except Joe’s constant barrage of complaints into different agencies.
I also, in good faith, had the roof trusses secured something many contractors are still waiting on. I personally went to Tibbetts Lumber to make that deposit.
I have had many permits in various permitting agencies at that time and they were all submitted about the same time as this one. However, three permits were just issued after six months of going thru the process.
All three property owners were frustrated but knew it was not me but the slow system and now we have broken ground and the clients are all happy.
I’m ready to return any unused deposit and have records showing what was taken in and what expenses were incurred but Joe keeps on insisting the entire amount is due.
Joseph had me investigated by Lakeland police and they dropped the case.
Joseph also had reported me to a radio station who also dropped the complaint.
Joseph complained to the DBPR and I am still operating as an active GC.
I have never even met this client. The contact was thru my project manager as a referral.
I was just trying to secure a permit for him to build a home and it had taken too long for him to wait.
Patience is a virtue.
