Our company, Lumina Health Products, has held an annual maintenance agreement with TK Elevator for many years. Our account number is: XXXXXX & annual agreement is: USXXXXX. ATTEMPTED SHAKEDOWN: Up until 10/21/21, our elevator had been working just fine as always. However on this date, an unscheduled TKE technician (hereafter referred to as "1st"), visited our building for only a few minutes, and then walked out without saying a word to anyone. Obviously, "1st" had performed some task that resulted in turning off our elevator, because it suddenly was no longer working immediately upon his departure. So, we promptly called TKE and requested to have "1st" turn it back on again. However, it was not "1st" who came back, but rather a "2nd" technician, who showed up later that day and quite easily turned it back on again- also departing our building within only a few minutes of arriving. So, we assumed that was the end of the matter. However, to our astonishment, we later received a bill (TKE Inv# XXXXXXXXXX) for $416. Obviously, being billed for a situation that TKE had themselves created was totally unacceptable, and we immediately called and left messages (and emailed) several times in an attempt to resolve this matter. However, the only callback we received was from a local branch manager who said he would investigate the issue and get back to me, but we never heard from him again. In addition, it took five separate phone calls & several emails (over the course of many days) to finally reach a billing agent, and when we finally had our chance to inquire about this, their agent, Kiah R., not only totally dismissed the circumstances, but actually altered the reason to why we were even being billed in the first place. We thus terminated our agreement Dec. 16, 2021, and still seek a refund from our annual agreement and deletion of this erroneous bill. We also hope to discourage such shakedowns with other TKE customers within the Sarasota, FL area.
