I recently had my roof replaced and the wind mitigation inspection completed. I sent messages/emails to SLIDE twice and got the same canned response. NO ONE has returned any calls or replied to my question!! Maybe I should not reply to any billing statements! I'll be looking for another company!Slide Insurance Company Response

Our records indicate that we did,indeed, receive the insureds email asking if his new roof would lower his premium. We replied via email that it very well may lower his premium and asked him to submit the wind mitigation inspection for review. A few days later,the insured emailed us again saying that we had not responded, so we replied again. We then received notification about this review, so we have tried to reach him by phone and left a voicemail, again asking him to submit the inspection form or some other documentation as proof of the roof replacement.
We cant explain why our email responses are not being received by the insured, but we hope to speak with him to resolve that issue and, more importantly, see about lowering his premium.Review from John S

I had a claim for hail damage to my roof. When I tried to call and talk with the desk adjuster, the call always went to voice mail and was never returned. Ths happened several times. It has been anextremily frustrating dealing with Slide Insurance.Slide Insurance Company Response

slide is colluding with farmers insurance to commit fraud. I cancelled my farmers policy early as farmers has pulled out of Florida. Two days later Slide insurance sends notice to my mortgage company asking for payment for a new policy that I never agreed to. In fact, slide has sent a notice to me that I would get a quote since they were taking over farmers accounts when they expired (mine wouldnt have expired until the end of August) I never received a quote and only was aware of the fraudulent charges when my mortgage company notified me of the change. Slide without authorization notified my mortgage company that they were my new insurance carrier despite the fact that I had informed the mortgage carrier and farmers, who relayed the information to slide, that I had cancelled farmers and had a new insurance carrier. Now I am having to fight for my money back. I will be filing an insurance fraud claim against both farmers and slide and will be seeking monetary damages from slide. Beware if you are florida resident who is losing farmers that this conspiracy between farmers and slide is going on. Farmers accidently admitted the fact when I called them and they refused to notify slide of the 'error' and pretended to be shocked that I never authorized the slide policy. It was our goal to make the transition to a new insurance company as seamless and easy as possible. A Slide renewal policy was issued about two months ahead of the effective date, to allow time for the insured to review it and make any changes. Unfortunately, we did not know that the policy was not needed until the insured contacted us on July 8, 2024.
The Slide policy has been cancelled and, while we have received no premium to date, any we do receive will be promptly refunded. We are sorry for any inconvenience we have caused.Customer Response

this response is full of untruths. First, I did NOT receive anything related to the policy they activated for me WITHOUT a signed declarations page (which of course they never had because i never received or signed one) until July 10, yet they put in to schedule a payment with my loan company several days before. Slide needs to respond to their lies in their response, apologize and if they really are sorry they should send me compensation for the aggravation as well as the time spent to get the problem they caused fixed. It should also be noted that slide had a whole slew of complaints from others who suffered the same unethical action by slide insurance. So I will not socnsider the complaint to be satisfied until they respond and admit to the aboveReview from Maggie P

The slice insurance company Send my mortgage company a bill. For 9,923.00 dollars, when I was only paying 1900 a year at the time for my homeowner's insurance. Which put me in a big negative with my escrow and Making my mortgage payment to high for me to pay I have had to resort to using my credit cards to pay mortgage. I never asked for this company or never signed anything with them, they just took it over I am 80 years old they pry on me like Vultures. Our house burnt down and we lost everything this insurance company has done nothing but play games with us now they are requesting a under oath statement that is scheduled for two months away keep in mind everything we owned is in this house and now destroyed We paid our policy in full when we got it they are a scam please dont buy insurance from them this company is slide Insurance and they are not to be trustedSlide Insurance Company Response

I was previously a customer of Farmers **********************. When they made the decision to exit the market, I was sent a proposal from Slide. Without my authorization or consent, Slide attempted to bill my escrow account for a policy that was almost 300% higher than my previous policy. This sort of behavior is absolutely unacceptable and is predatory. Slide should need affirmative consent to reassign a policy and bill for it. I will be contacting the State Attorney General as well as the Office of Insurance Regulation to complain about these deceptive tactics.Slide Insurance Company Response

Slide requested funds to be paid out from my escrow account prior to the expiration date, without my consent and without a policy in hand. I was given no time to accept or decline. This predatory tactic will be turned into the Attorney General. The regulatory requirements are gray until thousands of people file the same complaint. The burden of proof is on the Corporation not the Consumer. Please provide contact information that is accessible to the consumer as many of us have paid out of pocket to another insurance provider and expect a full refund given the fact that our current insurance policy has not yet expired.Slide Insurance Company Response

After assuming my old UPC policy, Slide insurance, without my consent, authorization, signature, or anything else, automatically sent a declaration page and billed my mortgage company for an annual premium. All this while I had already secured homeowners insurance from another provider! This has caused incredible damage to my escrow account. This is outrageous.. I expect a full refund as I never signed any authorization to whatever offer they claim to have sent. I will take this up with the attorney general if necessary. I have now paid two providers for homeowners insurance for the past year because Slide deviously pulled from my escrow account without my consent. Hello Tom, Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. On 2/1/2023 we purchased the renewal rights to many of the policies that UPC was liquidating. If you received a policy from Slide, that means that UPC still had you listed as a policyholder. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. Our intention is to provide a policy to everyone who was listed as needing coverage.
