The owner of Cultiv8 Landscape Service, *********************, agreed to do a landscaping job for my daughter. It included the demolition and disposal of an old deck, a concrete pathway and a brick walkway. *** and his crew showed up and did a partial demolition but left the brick walkway, a lot of wood debris and never cleaned the area appropriately in order to prepare for the new deck and turf that were set to be installed. Unbeknownst to me, he had outsourced the deck and turf project to another company which was running behind schedule. In order to keep the project going, I asked him repeatedly to finish the demolition and clean up of the yard and to then install the new walkway while we waited for the deck and turf to be completed. He planted 12 plants, put a black tarp down in preparation for blue slate rocks to be put in place and put half of the concrete pavers down.that was the last of *** that we saw. He basically took our $10,000 deposit and has kept it - now saying that the demolition and the dump fees took almost all of the money. In order to finish the job, he gave us a new bill saying he needed an additional $3800. I have copious amounts of texts from him and lots of photos and videos verifying everything that Im saying. Im looking to get $4,000 of my deposit back since he never finished the project and *** had to hire someone else to complete it.

I engaged Cultivat8 Landscape Services to install a gravel driveway which included grading the yard, installation of weed fabric and 22 yard lime rock coverage. The central feature of the driveway was to be a center island with decorative rock and a landscape feature with plants. The project also included covering an approx 16' x 14' courtyard with weed block fabric and granite, placing plants around the perimeter. The final feature was to be plants installed along the front of the home on both sides of the courtyard as a decorative feature. The deposit was made on May 5 with subsequent final payment of remaining $3000 balance on May 6 when Jay expressed that he needed the money to purchase supplies for the job. The work was not completed in a timely fashion but did get done. The quality of work was unsatisfactory in following ways: Weed block was not installed in the driveway, Water meter was buried under dirt, Plants were not aligned properly along in front of home-crooked line, no weed block fabric, and one side had no plants, Plants in court yard not placed along wall, scattered throughout granite, No demarcation lines between features, rock laid in a scattered fashion, Center island feature was not centered and not the plants quoted, also 2 less plants than charged The finished product did not have the visual appeal or professional look we anticipated based on pictures on his website. This was shared and attempts made to meet him at property to discuss issues. We finally settled for phone discussion of expectations and detailed photographs and instruction via text. He came out but did not complete all as discussed. After this we discovered lack of weed block and water meter buried. He texted "I am done going back and forth about this."

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/02) */ Weed block was removed from the estimate and price was adjusted from $6900 to $6000. Due to budget issues. There's nothing owed to the customer.
