This is for UPS store 4586. I sold a customer an expensive hunting rifle that was advertised nationally on a website. The customer purchased the rifle online and it was shipped out, when it arrived the gun was destroyed. The box looked like it had been struck very hard and had a huge dent in the middle. The customer also cut himself on a splinter when trying to open the box. The rifle was insured at full value but the customer told me the UPS is failing to honor the insurance policy. Consumer Response /* (3000, 5, 2022/02/02) */ Thank you for your help. These lying extornosists at UPS phoned ME - in bed this morning - NOT THE RECIPIENT OF THE SMASHED GOODS and said they had not been able to contact my customer - no ph# THAT IS A LIE! My customer has tried repeatedly to get them to come to his home to see the damage. He sent them MANY photos of the smashed stock yet they play games with him and REFUSE to honor their obligation. This is not just incompetence - it is WILLFUL PURPOSEFUL EXTORTION - in hopes that if UPS delays their obligation long enough his damage claim will just go away. THAT IS CRIMINAL! The woman on the phone from UPS persisted in the lies about not having my customer's phone #. Said the case was under investigation and it could take a YEAR to complete! ANOTHER HUGE LIE! I reminded her that my customer has phoned UPS in his area MANY times but was stonewalled every time. Refused to come to see the package after saying they needed to see it - ANOTHER LIE I asked why UPS had not contacted Mr Wang. She said ups did not have his ph # THAT IS ANOTHER LIE! Evan so - offered to find and send it to her this same morning. I asked her to send me an Email - she agreed. That has been over an hour and she NEVER SENT ME THE EMAIL for the ph# - yet ANOTHER LIE. If you would like to confirm any or all of this you may contact my customer Mr. Jeff W*** at ************** Pacific time ( Washington state) It would seem that deceit and lies are company policy with UPS. The company charges ridiculous charges for the IDENTICAL SAME service US POSTAL SVC. My neighbor who shipped the package for me ( I'm a partially disabled vet who has lost wife and children) - checked the ExACT SAME weight insurance zip code and package dimensions with USPS and it was about FIFTY% LESS!!! So add GREED to the UPS Store's bad reputation. The goods were FULLY insured - yet UPS denies the claim to be paid in an honest timely manner. They are white collar criminals and need to be investigated at corporate level for ins. fraud! To show the extent of the level of criminality that UPS has now adopted -simply do this: On your computer search engine enter these exact words: 'UPS REFUSES TO PAY FOR INSURED DAMAGE THEY CAUSED' My search produced FORTY TWO MILLION RESPONSES! Consider this fact - My next door neighbor was a UPS employee. He QUIT the company on moral grounds for conditions and conduct that he could no longer endure. *********** a co-victim of fraud Business Response /* (4000, 7, 2022/02/06) */ This package is still under investigation by UPS Corporate Claims. You will receive an update when the investigation is complete. This parcel was customer packed and UPS will determine if the packing was sufficient to meet shipping requirements. They have a NATIONAL reputation for being frauds and cheats. A simple search on any computer will reveal this fact. My oWN neighbor left OPS for reasons of unethical conduct on THEIR PART! I have mailed countless other similar packages over many years by USPS and NEVER had such a horrible experience as this. I paid a LOT of good money to FULLY INSURE this item and have reputation for thorough and proper packaging and can give references of this. The UPS lied to my customer regarding inspection of the item. he was IGNORED over and over and over according to him. I was told by him that UPS had intended totally meet their LEGAL OBLIGATION about a week ago. I urge you to contact him for the TRUTH as HE IS THE DAMAGED PARTY! There are countless complains against UPS available on line. If possible I would like to update my experiences with UPS. Since we spoke I phoned UPS in Tampa and spoke with the office manager. Instead of an apology for all the grief and wasted time for a classic case of negligence on their part - I got no apologies for my or my customers' concern that the issue was obviously being ignored in hopes that the issue would just go away. I expressed my concern for the way he was treated . all in a polite civil manner - I used no vile language of ANY kind. Keep in mind I am about 25 years his senior. He talked down to me as if i were a child and didn't " like the tone of my voice". Well - as a former Green Beret paratroop commander I served in one of our nation's most elite combat branches. i was gifted with a clear deep voice that I should not have to apologize for anymore than the color of my eyes or skin. I asked him if UPS was going to pay their obligation or not and he got very insolent - and hung up on me e like a 2 year old throwing a tantrum. Certainly not the kind of business decorum i would expect from a branch manager of a large corporation. You and i spoke for quite some time on the phone. If i did anything unintentionally to upset you or treat you with disrespect - it was.not my intention. i would appreciate it if you would add this experience to my complaint as Mr W** has not net been compensated which just further proves the larcenous nature of the UPS company. Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/02/22) */ After I re-read the VERY VERY small print on the UPS receipt I realized that it been insured for $4500 the actual amount of sale was $3500 - It was a simple misunderstanding since I was not able to PHYSICALLY deliver the package to the shipper myself. i wanted to clear that up - even though it actually was insured for 4500. I believe the customer would agree to settle with UPS on just the broken stock , since it was the only damaged part. ( they are available from the manufacturer) to be replaced and properly fitted with a factory part - BUT he has been told that UPS WILL NOT COME TO INSPECT THE DAMAGE OR EVEN PHONE HIm. That attitude seems absolutely insane to any rational person. NOW the customer has threatened ME in lawsuit instead of the people who cheated him - the UPS. Unless BBB insists on proper conduct - thieves like UPS will continue to cheat citizens without any hazard of being exposed Please help me - as Iam a VICTIM of fraud like the thousands of complaints on line that have never been paid -prove. Respectfully - *********** Consumer Response /* (3000, 22, 2022/03/02) */ here is an update on the from the criminals at UPS. so desperate to cheat the public that they have stooped to laughably insane 'excuses' not to pay for FULLY INSURE GOODS. If I didn't send this written by their OWN hand you would never believe me. Can you imagine the laughter in court should they use tis for a VALID reason to cheat the customer. What the next absurdity? " IT WASN'T MADE THE USA"? Or - "it IS AN ANTIQUE and therefore requires a special higher insurance premium since antique are FAR more valuable ". This was the last effort to cheat my customer ( see their message below) UNBELIEVABLE! They have THOUSANDS OF LEGITIMATE UNPAID ClAIMS - as PROVEN by my searches on line. Years ago I risked my LIFE for God and country against those who would take our rights and our justice away from us - including people like you. I AM NOT THE CRIMINAL HERE - I deserve to be treated better. The representative explained the claim would not be approved because the rifle was not an antique rifle. A rifle according to UPS/Crawford & Company is considered made before the year 1896.
