We've had multiple appointments with Bay Area Neuropsychology.Original assessment: 1/24/23 Part 1 of autism screening: 2/27/23 Part 2 of autism screening: 3/8/23 Review results of Autism Screening: 4/6/23 We have medicaid.The day before our initial appt, I was told that they no longer accept ********* and that if we wanted to have the appt we have waited for 1 year for..we needed to pay appx $200. At that appt, we were told that there was autism concerns and that if we wanted to take the test we'd need to pay outright. In total (initial+test) was appx $1200. I attempted to file a complaint with the office manager about the lack of communication.. and that because of the lack of communication it created a financial hardship for my family. She never returned my call. I tried multiple times. I also was trying to be proactive regarding the upcoming appts. (We were traveling out of town every 3-4 days for months for a family issue and I know their schedule is extremely limited- hence the 1 year wait for the appt). I've left multiple msgs for the office manager to schedule this appt, and had to go in to make it bc no one called me back.In getting our diagnosis, the Dr stated "I had to end my **** early in order to accommodate your appt". When I requested the appt, I told them if it didn't work they could reschedule me.My son's test results came back "indicative of autism". He scored in several categories "indicative of autism". I was given 4 diagnoses that describe autism, but not autism. Most insurance companies don't acknowledge the diagnoses given. Concern 1: as having ********* are they able to ethically accept payment out of pocket. Another provider told me it was against the law.concern 2: if your results are indicative of autism, why would you refuse the diagnosis? We paid for the test, the results came back as autism. To me, this comes off as retaliation for my complaint/issues with the office. And blatant fraud... All I want is the diagnosis updated.
