I signed up for Jersey College 1/24/24. I had different circumstances that I had to post pone my start date to 5/13/2024. I was told nothing would change. A week before my start date I got my new offer letter with pricing. They had book prices in there I said I already have the books there is a mistake. Now before this there was no communication that things were changing. So I write Angela who is financial aide oh well we just passed this rule you have to buy the books from us. Even though I opted out of books and now all of a sudden I have a 500 payment per month another thing that was no communicated with me. For almost 2 years. Most schools you pay after graduation. Not here. Not only do you have to go to school you have a 500 payment on top of it. So of course I had to drop out a week before I started. A couple days before my orientation. They do not communicate with you. Angela is the worse financial aide person I had to contact the school to receive any kind of communication with her. Not only that I talk to shameka and she was like ok you don't want to come no longer did I get off the phone I already was deactivated that quick. Which showed me they don't care about you. It is all about the money. The 40,000. I rather not go to nursing school right now then go to there. If you have other options take the other options this school does not have teachers that are experienced in teaching you, the teachers come and go and I have three other friends who were starting there also and they also had issues. Please look up their reviews before you go there and don't waste your money.Review from Sylvia E

NO OPTION FOR O START I am in the bridge program , Jersey College does not require A&P 1 and 2 . As they explain, " It was completed upon completing LPN program more than 11 years ago at another school. However they will not accept Pathophysiology, sociology or Nutrition which also from previous college over 10 years. Never the less, after reviewing the cost for credit for one course subject of $365-400/ per credit. Yes, that is in State( FLORIDA) rate( Other private institute is around $100-120 per credit). BOOKS ARE CHARGE TO STUDENT, LOANS, PELL GRANT TWICE THE AMOUNT. ... EXAMPLE : MEDSURG BOOK IS $174.0 ON AMAZON WHILE JERSEY BILLS THE STUDENTS AND THE GOVERNMENT $476.00 . (exact book, Author, color, 15th edition ,). Only certain people are allowed to opt out of almost $4000 book cost for the entire program (excluding General subjects). How are they allowed to charge these excessive cost to students and the Governments. Other private college cost 1/2. If other school offer evenings classes, this Jersey school would not be able to charge Floridan students out of Stated rate while operating as a Florida nursing school.Review from cherlda j

I attended Jersey College’s (Tampa, FL) LPN to RN program I was put on academic withdrawal for failing their Physiology class for the second time. The overall passing grade for this school is a 73. I had a 72. however, I always attended classes tutoring etc. I have to teaching myself for pathophysiology one of my classmates score a 70 they let her moving forwards she repeats the course as I did, she should be withdrawn to, but she is white am black skin color is matter at JERSEY There is no room for redemption at Jersey College. If you fail a test, that is it. payment is the priority not success of the student. I want to go to port charlotte or largo campus they said I have to re admit with them first. on the other hand, they make you retakes classes you already took like math English etc. I try to attend SCF (States college of Florida) they do not accept any credit from Jersey. I withdraw from the program since November 2023 but I still feeling so mistreated disappointed. But I thank God who proctected me driving from Bradenton to Tampa daily. Sometimes I have to pulled dover to wash my face then to see how they withdrawn me from the program for 1point it was totally heartbreaking.Jersey College School of Nursing Response

We are in receipt of your email dated August 29, 2023 regarding the assigned Review ID ******. The purpose of this letter is to respond (to the extent allowable by federal law) to the complaint. For your information, our institution is a post-secondary educational institution that is subject to state and federal laws with respect to release of student information. Specifically, in accordance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), schools must have written permission from a student in order to release any information from a student's education record to a third-party (see http://www2.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/fpco/ferpa/index.html). We have not received such permission from the individual and as such can only respond with respect to our general policies and procedures that apply to ALL students, including this individual. We have provided below a summary of the general information and policies that are referred to in their letter.
Our academic programs are guided by the policies and procedures established and approved by our faculty in accordance with Chapter 6E-1.003 – 4.007, Florida Administrative Code and Section 464.019, Florida Statutes. Specifically, Commission rule Chapter 6E-2.004(11)(b)s requires institutions to provide a complete explanation of “the standards of satisfactory academic progress. This policy shall include, at a minimum: minimum grades and standards considered satisfactory [. . .]”. Our Academic Catalog and Enrollment Agreement include this information. Students review the policies during orientation, sign an enrollment agreement, and attest to having read and understood the policies. An excerpt from the standard policies in effect at the time of this individual’s enrollment is provided below:
STUDENT PROMOTION POLICY
I understand and agree that I must maintain academic progress to remain enrolled in Jersey College. I also understand and agree that I am required to achieve or exceed the minimum grade point average for each course and receive a passing/satisfactory grade in each practicum rotation as defined for my program in order to graduate. The academic standards of performance for each program are set forth in the Academic Catalog. I understand that failure to maintain academic progress and meet the promotion standards for my program (as described in the Academic Catalog) may result in termination from my program of study and/or loss of financial aid.
PROMOTION POLICY
The minimum passing grade for the College is:
“C” in each course or course component[1]; and
“Pass” or “Satisfactory” in each Pass/Fail course or component of a course.
REPEAT POLICY
Students may repeat courses unsuccessfully attempted, subject to the following:
A course may not be repeated more than once;
A maximum of four (4) courses may be attempted in a program of study [. . .].
TERMINATION POLICY
Students will be withdrawn and terminated from their program of study when they (i) achieve a grade less than the minimum passing grade in a course twice, (ii) achieve a grade less than the minimum passing grade in five (5) or more courses [. . .].
The promotion policies are applied to ALL students equally. Regardless of any factors, students that are unsuccessful in a course (grade below 73%) twice and all students that are unsuccessful in five (5) or more classes are academically withdrawn.
In addition to maintaining detailed policies surrounding grades and student promotion, Jersey College maintains robust discrimination and harassment policies reviewed with students during orientation and available to them at all times in the Academic Catalog. The Catalog states:
DISCRIMINATION AND HARASSMENT POLICY
GENERAL PROHIBITION
Jersey College is committed to providing an environment that respects and encourages the development and growth of all students, faculty and staff. Discriminatory and harassing behaviors that unfairly or unlawfully interfere with an individual’s educational pursuits violate our College’s policies and procedures and are not tolerated. Such forms of discrimination and harassment include, but not are not limited to, discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, physical or mental disability, age, or military veteran status. Jersey College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs and activities.
Jersey College encourages all students, staff, and administrators to work together to prevent all forms of discrimination and harassment, including those based on race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, physical or mental disability, age, or military veteran status (individually and collectively, a protected status or a protected category).
Any student, staff, or third party seeking information with respect to the non-discrimination and harassment policies of Jersey College, including Title IX protections, may contact the Title IX Coordinator and the Section 504 Coordinator or the Office of Civil Rights. Any person may report discrimination and harassment, including sexual discrimination and harassment (whether or not the person reporting is the person alleged to be the victim of conduct that could constitute discrimination or harassment), in person, by mail, by telephone, or by electronic mail, using the contact information listed for the Title IX Coordinator, or by any other means that results in the Title IX Coordinator receiving the person’s verbal or written report. Such report may be made at any time, including non-business hours using the foregoing means.
Jersey College also prohibits all forms of reprisals, retaliation, or adverse or negative actions, taken against an individual because the individual has complained about alleged discrimination or harassment, or has participated as a party or witness in an investigation relating to such allegations.
To restate and emphasize an important component of the policy above, “Any student, staff, or third party seeking information with respect to the non-discrimination and harassment policies of Jersey College, including Title IX protections, may contact the Title IX Coordinator and the Section 504 Coordinator.” If this individual has information regarding alleged discrimination or harassment, we highly encourage her to provide such information to the Title IX Coordinator at *******@jerseycollege.edu.
Finally, the aforementioned Enrollment Agreement and Academic Catalog clearly disclose the College’s policies and statements regarding transferability of credits.
TRANSFER OF CREDITS TO OTHER INSTITUTIONS
Decisions to accept credits from another educational institution rest entirely with each receiving institution and are usually reviewed and considered on a case by case, course by course basis. Prospective students of Jersey College should consider this fact if they plan to continue their educational studies and desire to obtain credit for course work completed at Jersey College. Students are responsible to confirm whether or not Jersey College credits will be accepted by another institution of their choice.
We hope the preceding information clarifies our general policies and procedures that are equally applied to all students. We can provide you with more specific information regarding the student if she provides us with a FERPA waiver. If there is anything else you require, we would be more than happy to comply.
Regards,
Jersey College

I attended Jersey College’s (Tampa, FL) LPN program from January of 2022 to June of 2022. I was put on academic withdrawal for failing their Anatomy & Physiology class for the second time. The overall passing grade for this school is a 73. I had a 70. There is no room for redemption at Jersey College. If you fail a test, that is it. You have to wait until the next exam and do better. With A&P being as complex as it is, there is no lab to attend. You just have your textbook and lecture days. I had a decent instructor, but getting their help through tutoring wasn’t possible because they were constantly tutoring the RN students. You have no choice but to leave “mandatory” lectures, go home, and teach yourself through other sources. As of October 2022, I am unable to attend my school of choice because Jersey College told me that they will not release any documents pertaining to the classes I took there and the grades I received until I pay my balance. I was told that the school I am wishing to attend can send a form to have my transcripts sent over. The school sent the form twice, and has yet to receive my transcripts. I attended three classes at Jersey College. This balance, which is over $7K, is beyond inaccurate considering the fact that they have charged me for a “Academic Year 2,” which is a term that I have not stepped foot on their campus for. I am expected to pay a balance that has not been corrected. I wish I had more positive things to say, but I need others to be aware of this school’s dishonorable actions. On the Florida Department of Education website, you will find the primary rights of parents and eligible students under FERPA are the right to: • Inspect and review education records • Seek amendments to education records • Have some control over the disclosure of information from educational records If you are considering attending this school, please be cautious. I have filed a complaint with the Department of Education.
