In October 2023, I registered for the Ironman race in Tri-Cities, **. As I increased my training, my knee was giving me pain. I went to the doctor after a couple more months of training and my knee is missing cartilage. I was disappointed to know my running days were over, and after a few more weeks at less mileage, it was clear I could not do the race. I sent an email to the Ironman race director at *************************************** to withdraw from the race and request a refund. At this point, I was only going to get a 50% refund. I received a response from *******, and confirmed I was withdrawing. A few weeks later, I sent a follow-up email, and got the same response from *******, so I again confirmed I needed to withdraw. I have not had a response since.

On 6/1 we caught our AA flight from *********** with a connecting flight in *******. Upon our arrival in ******* we were informed by AA staff the our connecting flight ******* to ********* AA 2057 was cancelled for unknown reasons, therefore we could not attend the *********** Marathon due to no fault of our own. Multiple tickets were opened on 6/1 with Ironman, Active, and *********** explaining our situation with absolutely no response! It comes as no surprise ***************** Group owns Ironman, therefore here I am asking for them to step up and do the right thing prior to contacting the Missouri ************************ and my financial institution for resolution!

I have signed up for Ironman ********** **** and ******* **** and I recently got COVID and no longer have any exercise tolerance. I spoke to Ironman and they said I could transfer which is why I signed up for these races but they will only let me transfer within the year 2023 which leaves: a) no recovery time and b) very few options within *******. I have spoken to them to allow me to transfer to **** as it does not seem like this makes sense that customers who have signed ** for a race later in the year do not get the same opportunities as customers who signed up for a race at the beginning of the year. I have done numerous races with Ironman and have been a loyal customer and feel that this does not seem just.

I was registered to run a half marathon last October 2022. It was canceled due to a hurricane. They said it would be deferred to this October. They sent me a confirmation email with the new date saying the race was October 7, 2023. I proceeded to book my flights for October 6-8 to make sure I got there a day early for the expo and would fly home the day after the race. After I had my flights booked, they sent an email stating that the half is on October 8. I emailed them to PROVE they gave the wrong date when I originally moved my race. I asked for a refund and they said theyd move me to a different race (mind you, Id need to book another flight to even make this happen and even more money out of my pocket for their mistake). I knew they didnt typically do refunds but they are 100% at fault with their confirmation email sent to me and I believe I deserve to get my money ($149.99) back for their error. I have contacted numerous times and now they never respond. Had I known the race was on the 8th, I wouldve NEVER booked that return flight for that day. I cant even make it work to run the race and still get back to the airport to fly home. Now for some reason I have to pay for their mistake?

I registered for a **** race within the first 90 days, the race is late September. I paid $400 for registration and declined insurance on my registration. At the time, insurance was almost 25% of the registration fee; what healthy and fit athlete, fully committed to participating, would spend that much money on insurance? Unfortunately, I injured both of my knees and can no longer train or compete in this race. I can provide doctor's notes and testing to prove that I cannot train or race. Ironman policies are unsympathetic and money-grubbing; they do not care about the athletes, just their money. They offered me 25% of my registration back to me (I still lose $300), or transfer my registration to another 2023 race (I will not be physically ready by the end of the year, plus, doing a different race requires travel and accommodation that I didn't have to plan for or spend money on for the original race). I expressed to them that these options do not help my current situation. I asked why they won't allow me to defer my registration to the same race next year, what difference does that make compared to transferring to another race in the same year? They offer this option for full Ironmans but not ****, why not? No matter the option chosen, they will be able to sell my registration for this year at a higher price because its closer to the race date, it would be a win-win for everyone. They ignored my questions, gave scripted responses and ended the email by saying they are considering my incident resolved and stopped responding to emails, completely ignoring my simple question. They state these policies during registration, but that doesn't make the policies less scummy. I've read many stories similar to mine. It's a shame, because I dreamed of completing a full Ironman, but now I don't ever want to give them my money ever again. Can provide required documentation upon request.

I have requested numerous times to transfer my registration from one race to another, and each time I've only received the same seemingly automated response advising me of my options. I would simply like to transfer. I do not understand why Ironman makes this so difficult.
