I signed a contract on August 13, 2020 with Todd Homes, Inc. to remodel/paint cabinets my kitchen for $2800. The contract included the following: 1. Remove all kitchen cabinets, doors, drawers, and hardware. 2. Spray with oil base primer faces of cabinets, inseams, doors and drawer panels. 3. Respray all cabinet frames and inseams with color of customer's choice. 4. Spray all door and drawers of color of customer's choice. 5. Reinstall all doors, drawers and hardware. 6. Check for alignment. Due to the improper preparation of the cabinets, a base primer was never applied, paint is peeling off, patches are in need of a second coat, and some areas are uneven. There are finger print marks on the doors. The under cabinet surfaces are not uniform. Some are painted while others are not painted at all. I have been texting, emailing, and calling Todd Homes numerous times regarding this debacle. They have sent several workers to "touch up" the cabinets but with no intention of completing the job properly. Every time I called the office they repeatedly gave all kinds of excusesI feel Todd Homes Inc. has no intentions on completing or rectifying this project. For this reason, I am requesting from Todd Homes Inc. a full refund of $2800. This amount will not even be enough for me to hire another company to redo/repaint this substandard and inferior project. I have been living with this unsightly mess for far too long. *On December 9, 2021, Vince text the following: We r sending u a check for 2k, u will have it within two weeks. I trust this will close this matter. On December 30, 2021 Vince text the following: U will be getting the refund, its approved, pls be patient. As of today February 1st, 2022 I have not received any refund, not a phone, even I agree to take less of the cost to repaint this kitchen cabinets which is $4500 estimate.

In May 21 I hired Todd Homes to do a a job for me in my home that was to start in Jun 21. Part of this job was to remove my existing floor, prepare my floor and install LVP. This is what my contract says and what I paid for. After completion and payment in full it was determined that my floor was not prepped at all. There are areas throughout my kitchen and hallway that dip and are clearly voided with no prep underneath. Vincent the owner that I was dealing with told me they could put epoxy underneath to fill the void and this would fix the problem. After months of begging Vincent to come and repair the floor they showed up in Oct 21. This remedy did not work. In Nov 21 I sent a certified letter to Todd Homes with a 20 day time frame to contact me to remedy the situation. As per usual with my experience with this company there was no response. I am reaching out to the BBB in hopes they will fix this situation before we go to court. I have had 3 companies come out to look at my floor. All have said my floor is now is voided of it's warranty because Todd Homes did not put the required underlayment/barrier down. All have said the Epoxy fix is for wood flooring not LVP as LVP does not use any type of glue system. All have said my floor clearly was not prepped and leveled. One company won't even attempt to fix but is only willing to replace the entire floor. The other two would be willing to fix and costs range from $6,993.00 to $11,574.50. What Todd Homes "fix" left me with was small open holes drilled into my new floor. Some are raised with jagged edges, other are flat with an open hole. I have smears on every hole they drilled that won't come up with anything I have used. My floor is still dipping and has soft spots in many, many places. I do not want this company back in my home. They have lied to me and cheated me. I want $7300.27 from this company to redo the area of my floor that they did not do properly and I paid for.

      Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2022/01/31) */ Todd homes did provide the floor install and will provide a warranty repair that will include removing the compromised area of floor and replacing that section. this of course at no cost to the customer. Replacing the entire floor for a small area that requires modification and repair is not reasonable. All work performed is welcome to inspection and final approval from the client. This is the purpose of a warranty that we provide for all work performed. The warranty provided for the work performed is one of the strongest in the industry. If the client does not wish to have the warranty full-filled by Todd Homes we will use a licensed sub contractor of Todd Homes selection to perform the work, once again final repair will need to be inspected by homeowner and a Todd Homes representative. We wish to correct the error under the warranty and will repair/replace the area in question, floor details will be required from customer so the proper replacement floor can be obtained (make, model, color, etc, etc) once floor ordered and received Todd Homes will coordinate with client for the scheduled repair. Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/02/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I would agree to use a sub-contractor and not Todd Homes. My flooring is Natural Elegance Collection 35 Great Smokey Oak - GSO-03 Made in PRC I do not agree with the kitchen and hall to be the only area that can be fixed. If they can't find my floor made in PRC they will have to replace the living room as well. which will also require transitions that I currently don't have and did not want. I would be willing to get them so the bedrooms would not have to be done. My flooring made in any place other than PRC is different locking system. Consumer Response /* (3000, 18, 2022/02/16) */ The company did not respond by 13 Feb 22. I agreed to a sub contractor but if they can't find my floor they will have to replace the living room as well not just the kitchen and hallway. I provided the make and model of my flooring per their request. They have not reached out to me.
