This company replaced my roof in 2018. In Dec 21 I contacted them about a small leak in the roof above my garage. They sent their rep Cohen out to evaluate and he advised the repair would be covered under the warranty. After multiple attempts to fix the leak they ended up putting a metal "band aid" over it instead of properly fixing the leak. I've had 2 General Contractors come take a look and both said that the fix southeastern did was well below industry standards. My one and only contact with the owner of the company was him telling me that none of the work they did was necessary and that it's not the roof leaking but the stucco wall. Yet no water damage is anywhere near the wall. All damage is in the spot where the leak is. He refused to do anything else but reluctantly told me they would paint the metal and to text him the color combo. Which I did immediately. That was over 3 months ago and I haven't heard from them since. I have all the communication emails and texts messages. They turned a small leak into a waterfall!

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/08/22) */ We did replace Mr. ******** roof in 2018. Our office received a call in roughly December of 2021 about a leak in the corner of the garage. Our technician went out and inspected and recommended we replace an area on the roof and inspect while doing so in order to ensure there were no underlying issues. While doing so, the crew inspected the flashing and wanted to replace as an extra precaution. There are two options when replacing the flashing, one going over the existing and installing both L and counterflashing or cutting the stucco and removing the existing flashing and installing new and then repairing the stucco. After the repair was completed, I spoke with Mr. ******* and informed him of the other option and he did not want the stucco cut. Some time after the repair was made, we received another call from Mr. ******* stating the area was till leaking. We sent our technician back out to inspect and perform a water test so that we could pinpoint exactly where the leak was coming form. Our tech held the water on the roof for quite some time and no leak. He then moved the water up the wall and it leaked very quickly. this water test confirmed that the roof was not leaking at all and in fact it was the wall all along. Our technician showed Mr. ******* when he was on site and he seemed to understand and be in agreement. The only complaint Mr. ******* had after that when I spoke to him was that I did not think that we should be responsible for painting the flashing as this was never a roof issue at all and we have spent quite a bit of money defending our position and showing the owner it was not the roof. Now he is stating that 2 general contractors are telling him that the repair is "below industry standards. I am not sure what they are referring to as the two repairs for this area (both of which are standard) are to install the flashing as was done, or cutting stucco and replacing it and then repairing the stucco. I am also a licensed General Contractor and am very well versed in flashings and construction. My question to Mr. ******* is what did they find? Where is the leak coming from? Has he painted and sealed the wall area that was leaking? HAs anything been done to eliminate any other potential issues that may be causing the leak or just reviewing Southeastern and stating it is the roof? We have spent quite a bit of money and gone over and above in trying to help Mr. ******* and ensure that it was not roof related. Once we know it is not, it is not our responsibility any longer. The wall needs to be repaired, resealed with the correct materials or possibly opened up above the leak area in order to properly diagnose and repair correctly. This is not something the Southeastern Roofing is nor should be responsible for.
