My primary care doctor ordered an at-home test for suspected sleep apnea on June 14, 2024. The test was to be mailed to me from Blackstone Medical Services. On or about June 18 I received a phone call from ******** with Blackstone saying that my health insurance provider **************** Healthcare) had approved the test and that my copay was $100. I provided my card info, he submitted it immediately and it went through. I received the test on July 2nd along with an email from ******** saying that insurance authorized a 'rental' of the device for 5 days and that I needed to return it used and on time to avoid late fees. The instructions for use of the device were very confusing and I decided not to take the test and to return the device unused using the prepaid *** label. I took the package to a *** store on July 3rd and got a receipt. The next day, July 4th, was a holiday. I didn't know if *** was delivering packages on July 5th or over the weekend. My receipt said it was picked up by *** on July 3rd. I advised Blackstone of my decision not to take the test and that I was returning the device as I had received it using the prepaid label, which they approved, and said that I expected a refund of my co-pay. They agreed. The package was delivered to Blackstone on July 8th. Since then, after 4 phone conversations and texts, I have not received my refund as promised by July 19. I don't know if I ever will. I will be filling a complaint with the Florida secretary of state regarding this matter. I would appreciate any help or advice you can provide.
