I reached out to Rodriguez Sod back in the end of July and spoke to the owner, Manuel. He came over to my house On July 20th and provided me with a quote of $3550 to install new bitter blue st. Augustine sod in both my front and back yard. I know nothing about sod so I asked him what this bitter blue sod is and why are they installing this one vs other versions. He mentioned that this sod is shade tolerant and I would benefit because parts of my front yard is shaded by two trees. This will allow the grass to thrive and survive. He also mentioned to me that he will come once a week to monitor the grass and make sure that it is surviving. This was a main reason I chose him because he seemed to care and provided a 30 day guarantee that they would fix or replace any sod that isn't thriving as long as the customer is following all instructions for care. Well before I agreed to continue with him, I spent $800 to fix my sprinkler system and then I called him to schedule an install date. They came by and installed the grass on August 2nd. After this date, I monitored the grass and watered it as instructed by him on a daily basis for the first two weeks. I then noticed that Manny was not showing up as promised by him on a weekly basis so I texted him and asked when he can stop by. I received no reply. I continued to ask him weekly for the first month of having the grass and still no reply. I noticed portions of the grass that was dying in the front yard. Out of concern, I contacted their location and was assured someone would come. No one came. I contracted three separate lawn companies to maintain the yard and all three mentioned that I do not have bitter blue and that is why it is dying. I continued to water and maintain the grass to see if it would grow but it wouldn't. I then called and went in person on 12/13 and asked to speak to Manny. I was assured he will call me and stop by. No response. I spent $3350 for grass that I thought would survive and feel scammed.
