    10/24/23 I called Spectra to book an appointment. I was told there would be no office visit fee after Spectra checked into my insurance info I provided.Spectra stated, during the initial call & visit that I would be charged for later treatments that I was seeking as these treatments were not covered by my insurance but the initial office visit was. Knowing in advance, I accepted these terms 10/26/23 Upon arrival to Spectra I reconfirmed there is no charge for initial office visit. After my appointment is over, no charge 11/6/23 My Husband looked at FL Blue & saw a Patient Responsibility amount of $147.73 for my 10/26 office visit Spectra Online Patient Portal still showed a $0 balance owed I immediately get FL Blue customer service involved. FL Blue stated that Spectra was no longer on the list for my insurance but was prior. FL blue then called Spectra while I was on the phone with ***************************** told FL Blue they did still accept my issurance plan. FL Blue suggested to them that they needed to look into that deeper because FL Blue showed different. It was immediately apparent to FL Blue and myself that the office employees at Spectra don't know what they are doing as far as giving out misinformation to people.I called ***************************** stated they would talk to billing to get it resolved which will take a few days as billing is gone until Monday 11/9/23 I go back into my Spectra Patient Portal to see the charge go from $0 to $147.73 11/13/23 Spectra calls me 9:26 a.m. stating "after a long meeting regarding this, there is nothing they can do!" A long meeting on Monday morning over with that early? Really?Bottom line is that you don't reassure a customer of $0 responsibility & later blindside them with a bill & make zero effort to work with that person. Being that they were still telling people a month later that they accepted my insurance, how many other people are they shafting the same way?It's unethical & very bad business!
