Load runner trailers has a physical location in ******* fl in which I purchased a trailer from them in a rent to own purchase option (Feb 2024). I couldnt find them on the search bar so i chose their main location in *****. The lady explained to me options in purchasing a trailer that advertised $5800 more or less. I asked about financing and she says they offer financing and rent to own for ****************************** the rent to own because I didnt want hard inquiries on my credit report, and she explained it is really easy signing up. She sent me a link on my phone to sign up with their rent to own lender called "hometown capital llc" in which I made an account and accepted terms and conditions etc. I signed some physical documents inside after i created an account and i also received a paper bill of sale of $5100 that would be "financed" because i gave a $700 dollar cash downpayment. She said the payments would be low, and that it would show more info on my first bill in march. I didnt pay much attention to the bill i have received in march and april, but in the month of may. I discovered my total balance due was $9000 almost double the price of the trailer advertised. I questioned load runner trailers and she sent me a text "call the financing company". I called the financing company and they told me i signed the documents on phone. Now after paying 1800 I still owe them $8000. She didnt explain to me nor did i receive documents about the balance being $8000, all she did was give me a total bill of sale of the advertised trailer of $5100 after giving them 700 dollar downpayment.

      Dear Sir or Madam,

I have reviewed ************************ complaint and already understand his confusion and concern. The rent to own program is a "high risk" rental program for customers that want monthly payments without having their credit report ran. the company has no way of knowing if they are credit worthy or not. As a direct result, the rental rate of the contract is considerably higher than a normal financed trailer due to incurred credit risk by the rent to own company. ******************** was provided and signed all the documentation regarding his total rental contract and monthly payments. See attachment above for the actual information included in his rental contract. ******************** made a down payment of $852.15 at the time he signed his agreement. Of that amount there are non-refundable fees HomeTowne Capitol charges for the following. $170.00 for titling the trailer, a non-refundable fee for contract set up and a $400 charge for the *** to be placed on the trailer to ensure recovery should he not pay. The remainder is credited to his total rental contract balance.

With that said there is some good news for ********************. Should the rental customer want to pay the rental contract off early they may do so at a heavy discounted percentage off the ***** RENTAL CONTRACT. In ************************ case he would be entitled to a 35% discount from his total remaining rental contract balance. The rental companies DO NOT advertise this option in order to hold the contract longer or to the full term. I will have ************************ sales representative reach out to him to explain this in more detail. He is not alone in his complaint and confusion, but this is easily rectifiable for him once he is ready to pay off the contract. We will be ready to get involved once he is ready to pay his rental contract in full.

Should you need any further information please contact me,

      **** "***" Tario

I am rejecting this response because: I was never informed or shown the numbers of the "loan terms" and payments in paper or digital. If i were to seen it, I would have backed out and logically went with actual financing instead of their rent to own program. Clearly the rent to own program doesnt benefit people who will be paying it off in less than 4 months which I was about to do, I was never explained that.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

The financing company in question uses a platform that interfaces directly with the consumer for this exact reason, so that there can be no misinterpretation or misrepresentation of the terms of the sale. Any financing agreement is on a two-party basis, the consumer and the financing institution.

At this point, we feel the dispute is between the consumer and the financing firm and the terms that exist between those two parties. In our experience, the financing firm is generally able to work with customers and I would encourage the complainant to pursue this avenue. As the dealer, we are not a party on the financing arrangement nor do we have the ability to negotiate on behalf of either party involved in this complaint. I don't know what recourse we could reasonably be expected to pursue.

I was fraudulently sold into a finance contract that from the beginning I told my salesman (****) I could not be in. I had purchased 2 previous trailers in cash and credit cards. When I purchased 2 additional trailers they convinced me to use financing with ******************* who they have deals with. I told ********** would be paying the trailers off early and did not want to be in a loan with early payment penalties. To my surprise when I called for a payoff amount I owed SEVERAL thousands more than what I had purchased them for. The bankers was extremely rude and smug. Loanshark vibes. He told me that even though my contract sounds like a traditional 60 month loan it is not. Each payment does not go to interest and principal. They calculate the interest of the entirety then add it to the balance and you start paying from there. Rough numbers I paid $12k for one trailer. After 6 months of payments they would not release the title until I paid the full balance of $19k. I have called everyday for weeks trying to talk to a manager and they refuse to call me back. I have tried to contact my salesman **** to no success. I have written emails to the president of the company ************************* and received no response. I have called the bank and wrote several emails with no response. I was lied to, tricked, and fraudulently misrepresented into a contract I did not want. I have proof in text exchanges on a private line with **** where I specifically said during financing info that the bank must not have an early penalty. Having to pay many thousands more upfront sure seems like a penalty to me.

We value and appreciate the feedback of all our customers. The financing agreement / contract used to fund these purchases are clearly written and our sales team makes every effort to clearly explain the contract terms and payoff structure at the time of purchase, before our customers sign any documents.  First Citizens is a financing company we frequently work with and have had resoundingly positive customer feedback around.  Once we were made aware of the customer's complaint, we requested that First Citizens reach out directly to clarify the terms of the signed financing agreement and clear up and potential misunderstandings the customer may have regarding the terms of the contract.  The satisfaction of our customers is our priority and we are committed to operating with honesty and integrity.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I feel that my wording was not read. MY SALESMAN AND **** AND THE ******************** BOTH TOLD ME THERE WAS NO PRE-PAYMENT PENALTIES. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION BEFORE SIGNING THE CONTRACT. IF SO, I WOULD HAVE NEVER SIGNED THE CONTRACT. **** KNOWS THIS AND SO DID *************. At this point I am boiling. I am a disabled veteran who has lost everything now to possibly a terminal illness. My savings are gone, my business is gone and I have many many thousands of debt to try and take care of. I am trying to do everything I can to ease any possible burdens for my faimily. I can't even sell the trailers because I owe thousands more than I paid. I am shocked that loan sharking hustler tactics can be employed and they  can lie to a customer's face and just claim "IT'S IN THE CONTRACT". If my salesman and my lender are both telling me multiple times including through text messaging there is no early payoff penalty and hiding behind the "TECHNICALLY" just because you dont call it a early payoff penalty doesn't make it so. I borrrowed roughly $14k for one trailer and telling me after 6 months of payments I owe nearly $20k and won't release the title until I pay the FULL balance sure sounds like a "EARLY PAYOFF PENALTY" to me? If you are so correct, why has every phone call and email to resolve this gone without a response? You both should be ashamed of yourselves for misleading customers into loans like this and definitely should be ashamed to say the customer is important then fail to take ownership for fraudulently misleading them into something **** and *** both knew 100% that I did not want. I have purchased 4 trailers from your copmpany and I am ashamed for you. This is extremely unprofessional, fraudulent, and simply immoral.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

On Nov 29th Someone fraudulently purchased two trailers from LoadRunner in ************ **. The sales rep ***** failed to due their due diligence to properly identify that this person was not the real person. The Theif stole $ 38k worth of trailer from LoadRunner. LoadRunner...allowed this person to finance $38K under my personal information. Once this scam was found out by receiving a letter in the mail by the finance company...I quickly located the location of where this scam took place. At first...the employees of LoadRunner would hang up the phone on me simply because I was trying to explain my situation to them and asked them for their name just for tracking purposes ect. I urged them to contact the police on their end to report the fraud and theft that just took place and they would refuse and continued to hang up on me. I was then told that I would need to drive over two hrs to get copies of the documents to help the police ID this person. But then they told me to not bother coming because they wouldn't give me anything. I tried to explain to them that i am the victim here. They didnt care to help or even bother to help find the truth. I was able to finally speak to a ********* who said a comment that i felt was racially fuel and extremely offensive. There are soo many ************************* as a common name. Then he stated that their camera system doesn't hold enough memory.

Greetings,  Yesterday, 01/03/2023 the Better Business Bureau called our office to inform us that we have an unanswered BBB complaint that dated back to 12/10/2022.  I was unaware of this complaint until we received the telephone call.  The BBB said they would resend the email complaint which I received at 9:58pm Tuesday 01/03/2023 in my email inbox.

I called our ************ office to follow up with the details of this complaint and spoke with ***************************, the manager of that location.  ******** explained a customer applied for credit with one of our finance companies and was approved to purchase 2 dump trailers.  The person presented a **************** Drivers License recording all the correct information that matched the drivers license and the credit application.  The customer picked up the ********************** in person, as always we made a photo copy of the drivers license for our records along with the customers signature of all the documents associated with the purchase of the trailer.  Nothing about the transaction would lead us to believe anything was wrong.

Weeks go by and we received a telephone call from someone quite upset on the phone requesting copies of this transaction.  The caller was upset on the phone that we would not agree to provide more information.  We advised the caller to contact the police and file a complaint.

Yesterday 01/03/2023 a Detective **** with the ***** ************************* visited our ************ location investigating the case and reviewed all the documents, Copy of Drivers License and we showed the officer ***** of the person driving off with the trailers.  Detective **** is scheduled to return to our ************ office today with a photo lineup for the sales rep to possibly identify.

Load Runner Trailers along with all of our staff make every effort to verify each and every customer to the best of our ability.  A photo ID is required of every person that we deliver a trailer to be kept on file.  We at Load Runner Trailers also respects our customers privacy and will not respond to request of copies of sensitive material to me shared over the phone or email.

Load Runner is co-operating with the authorities 100% and will continue to help in every way possible.  We at Load Runner Trailers apologize for any trouble this situation may have caused however we are operating under the guidelines required by the **************** and our finance company partners.

      Sincerely

      ***********************

      President
