I responded to flyer to have my water tested from South Florida Water Services around 12/2019. We originally had a operating water softer in our garage. But an old Cullegan water system under our sink. Immediately the sales person tested our water and stated it was hard and contaminated. He saw our water filtration system and said he could replace it. Looking back at my receipts the under sink filter was replaced reverse osmosis system whole house carbon tower (no salt system) whole house ultraviolet. This cost $3,995.00 9/19/19 by Larry S.. After they left my husband showed me the system and I ask where was our water softener he said they took it. We were lead to believe it was whole house conditioned. Next year they come back to put in new under sink filters part of your warranty. Tested water said it was extremely hard. Salesman told us we needed a water softener. We told him they took our working water softener last year. He said it must not had been working. So he sold us a whole house conditioner for $3,495.00. And installed a water softener. I noticed one night salt and water spraying all over my garage door. Called the office numerous times to have it serviced, no one returned mycall. Finally on 7/26/21 I got ahold of Sandy from the office she was not sure why no one returned my call. I told her my garage was filled with salt spray and my garage door was rusting. On 8/16/22 I had my garage door cable replaced due to breakage from corrosion. Ordered parts that added to $1094. Told Josh the owner he was rude called a plumber and plumber said we hadn't added enough salt to softener. Turns out Josh who we never meet came to our house admitted it water softener was not installed properly. But took no responsibility for it. Then 10/19/21 cost me $2,000 paid by credit card for addition reverse osmosis system and whole house conditioner. the came out to do warranty service cost me $820.48. OMG! Do you see where I am coming from. Can you afford this? I can't!Review from Steven K

Left messages for Joshua S about replacing our ballast unit which was full of water and not protected from the rain. We had an electrician check the unit and he recommended this unit be replaced because it kept tripping our GFI due to all the water in that unit. That's been 2 weeks and the only answer I got was from Joshua stating he would "try to get someone out there within 2-3 weeks. So far......nothingReview from Susan G

This company pushes VERY deceptive -- and misrepresented -- sales! Our condo association was lead to believe that this company was associated with some government water control agency, and were offering free home water quality assessments. So I agreed to a visit. Mistake !! This is NOT true. This is simply an aggressive and misleading marketing technique. The rep did tests, then immediately began SELLING their under-sink water filtration system. When I asked him for the name -- or web link -- of their company, so that I could web research their service, he refused. He would not even give me ANY flyer or documentation on their company or service. And then he began a VERY AGGRESSIVE sales pitch. I immediately realized the visit was a misleading 'hoax', and asked him to leave. He would not leave, and spent another FIVE minutes berating me for being foolish, for not wanting to immediately purchase from a salesman !! I would NEVER do business with this unethical company!

We tested the water and made a recommendation to improve the water quality. Nothing was misled or misrepresented. It stated clearly on the postcard that was sent to the homeowner that this would be a free water analysis and we are separate from the local water utility. We wish this homeowner the best and we apologize for any inconvenience.

We got a call from the company that I man was in our area and would test our water. We said okay. Joshua showed up, looked at our water filters, immediately went down to his truck, and brought up replacement filters. We said wait a minute, you're supposed to test the water first, and we need a price quote on the replacement filters and labor. He quoted $440 plus tax for four filters. I said that sounds too high. I'll check on the internet. He said those filters are not available on the internet and that I could absolutely not buy them over the internet. After we said no, did not install the filters, he waived the $119 labor charge where he had already admitted it would only take 10 minutes for the installation of the replacement filters. So with the reduction in total price, we said ok, he installed a new filters, was paid, and left. I then checked the internet and found that I could buy the same identical 4 filters for $207 and no sales tax, (instead of 440 plus 26 in sales tax), a $259 savings. I immediately ordered to have them for next year. The installation is quite simple. I will not be dealing with this company again do to that false information he gave and do to his rude behavior and high-pressure sales tactics.South Florida Water Services, Inc. Response

Mr ****** wants us to work for free. I'm unable to sell the filters to him for the same price as I pay for them. We would not be able to stay in business if we did that. We wish him and his wife the best moving forward. The price he says he found on the internet is the same as what I pay for them.Review from Carolyn M

No scare tactics involved. We improve water quality for residential homes and help people get the best water possible in their nest. The equipment we sell is top of the line water equipment that's made specifically for Florida water and it's built to last. We never tell people that there us radiation in the water. The water reports from municipalities state there are radioactive contaminates in the water supply and that is what we reference. We do not test for radiation and would never state that this particular contaminate is in their water.

Deceptive sales and service practice. My wife responded to a post card to have my water tested that she thought came from Marion County Water. Joshua S********* CEO of South Florida Water Services showed up and tested our water and told us it was full of toxins. Despite having a water filtration installed a year ago which he said was useless I then told him we drink bottled water Poland spring and others we trusted so then he tested all of our bottled waters and told us they were toxic also. I jokingly told him its ok the Dems told us the planet only would last another 5 more years before global warming did us in. So the answer is no for today, but leave a card and I will check out his company he then became very rude. After that he called me a liar and if I didn't buy today I would never call him back so I told him to pack his so called test equipment up and ordered him to leave. He continued to argue and insult me till he finally left, at this point my blood pressor was thru the roof I am surprised and lucky I did not have a heart attack. We are a gated community and told the guard the Marion county water was coming he must have misrepresented himself at the gate since then we have banned his company from ever getting in again.South Florida Water Services, Inc. I went to Mr and Mrs ***** home and performed a free water analysis. The water was hard and utility grade coming through the whole house system that was the same size as a filter that would go on the back of a refrigerator. I made a recommendation to improve the water quality and the customer declined. I try to improve people's water quality the 1st time we meet because most people are very busy and don't get around to fixing the water after the product has been presented to them. Mr and Mrs ***** gave us no money and have done no business with us. We have over 6 thousand happy customers that the love the soft working grade and food grade water our water systems provide. I concluded that the water could be improved from utility grade to working grade and food grade water. I'm sorry that I upset them and I wish them the best of luck.

I'm so glad these folks have posted their experiences. Thank you, BBB for continuing this service. We just received the postcard stating that due to heavy rains, radioactive materials and pesticides have invaded our aquifers and we need to have our water tested immediately. We shredded the postcard from S. Florida Water Services, Inc. and will look for reliable information online from reliable sources. We offer a free water analysis and make recommendations to improve water quality if necessary. There's nothing illegitimate about our service. We have thousands of happy customers that love their water. This review is coming from a person that never even had their water checked by our company. We wish them the best.
