We enlisted the services of Apex Energy solutions for windows and doors to our newly purchased home. ****, the owner, came to our home provided us with quote. Being naive to the world of windows and doors we moved forward with his recommendations and made the purchase. Unbeknownst to us we were not provided with all the information we needed to make the best decision for our family. I impressed upon him The importance of safety when it came to my home as we have 3 young children. After installation we realized that the locking mechanism to our front door was equipped with fire safety feature that we 1. Did not ask for and 2. Were not informed of that allows the door to be opened without being unlocked allowing our young children to walk right out of the front door into the street and potentially traffic. We were first ignored by **** the owner then he responded by email once I reached out via email, whereas I requested we brainstorm another potential option for a locking mechanism to replace the one we have that does not have this fire safety feature. He was unwilling to assist with finding another solution and said we were stuck with the product we ordered which was the product we ordered off of his recommendation. Had we been informed about this fire safety feature we would not have moved forward with this purchase. We were misled and are now in a space where we are stuck with a product that provides an unsafe environment for my family. I only want a solution for this problem and **** has been unwilling to provide one. We cannot even install an Aftermarket safety features on the door as that would void the door warranty. We are hoping you can assist us.
