Fitness club is double billing me every month. When I have tried to resolve it with the club, I get no help and an attitude of "you don't understand billing" which is what the manager told me. I shoed her my bank statement where I was charged twice two months in a row but they would acknowledge it. They charge my debit card and then they also charge my checking account. Corporate tells me I have to take it up with the individual club. I have had to cancel my debit card and may have to open a new checking account in order to get this to stop. I want to cancel my membership and they want to charge me ***** to do that.Business response

This response was taken verbally by the BBB:
At this time the manager has spoken with the consumer and advised that they will need to contact their bank to get refund as at this time we are only showing there is only one charge in our system. If the consumer would like to come in we can get him a copy of our records for the consumer to take to their bank to help in the matter.

I cancelled my membership in February and they continued to charge me until June when I realized the charges. They only refunded one month and refuse to refund the restBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2022/08/19) */ This response was taken verbally by the BBB: Consumer came in and spoke with the General Manager and advised they canceled in January. Manager was not able to find a cancelation in file and as goodwill canceled membership and refunded June dues. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/08/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) As you can see there lying because I never said January I said February. They refunded June because I had been in there and spoken to them via phone several times. They were asking me for a cancellation document that they were supposed to give me. I had no clue that I was to receive that document so if there agent didn't give it to me it isn't my fault. Why should I have to pay for there incompetence. The original visit to cancel I stood waiting for almost 45 mins waiting to speak with the only person in the club, an African American male who obviously was overwhelmed being by himself. So overwhelmed that he failed to give me the document required and cancel my membership.Initial Complaint

My bank account was overdrawn $28 twice in October and again in November. That's almost $90 I've lost from planet fitness, and i've tried calling to freeze or cancel my membership months ago on the phone and in person which I was denied without signing paperwork or I couldn't do because of the location or bad standing because of the overdraft fee. My bank account is in the negative and planet fitness keeps charging my bank. I would like a refund and to cancel my membership.Business response
