V8 Roadsters (V8R) has the most irrational customer service I've ever experienced. I returned hundreds of dollars worth of BRD Frame Rail Braces to V8R due to poor engineering and quality, in my opinion. Braces were not installed. I only installed some hardware, which I removed because it was the wrong size. I followed V8R's return process and requested an RMA to return the parts. I returned the parts at my expense, expecting a restock fee. The braces were still new and wrapped, and did not expect to be charged for the mounted hardware because they were the wrong size. V8R stated a small bend in the front brace was discovered when the returned parts arrived and claimed it was shipping damage. They considered the front brace to be scrap, based on this damage. They offered me a 40% refund since the rear brace was still resell-able. In an attempt to avoid a *** claim, I asked that V8R ship the damaged parts back to me at my expense. They refused and encouraged me to proceed with the *** claim. They then refused to issue the refund until Id completed a *** insurance claim which had nothing to do with the parts I had paid for, in their possession. *** approved a partial insurance settlement based on the V8R partial refund, but then V8R refused to issue the already agreed upon refund. *** told me that they wanted adjust the refund (down to zero) based on the *** claim? The *** settlement had nothing to do with the resell-able parts I had returned to V8R. My impression is that they hoped I'd gotten a full insurance claim and they would be able to make a profit re-selling parts for which I'd already paid. I had to file a buyer's protection claim with ******, and fortunately they ruled in my favor. Make sure you purchase with some sort of buyer protection and insure any returns.
