July 7, 2022 $185.44 This report is about the bad experience I had at AJ's Bikes and Boards in Valrico. This is a copy of the letter I gave to Darren. AJ's Bikes, LLC 1538 Bloomingdale Avenue Valrico, FL 33596 813-685-2453 Good day. I have been a satisfied AJ's customer for years and am glad to see the business is thriving. I've purchased two bikes since I've lived here, and if I decide to get another, it will likely be from AJ's. Hopefully, the feedback I am providing in this note will improve your customer service. Bottom Line: The bike given the deluxe tune-up left the shop in far worse shape than it was when it went in on Wednesday, 6 July. It is essentially unrideable. The front derailer control only moves after applying excessive force. And I think the trim is off. I did not catch it in my test ride around your building because I did not try to use it, given the limited space around the building. Lesson-learned on my part. When I discovered it when I got home, I immediately stopped the ride, afraid I would break something. Here's what happened. I brought in two bikes. One for the deluxe tune-up (Cannondale) and to have some parts moved from the 2nd bike (Trek) to the Cannondale. I told Eric to keep the bikes as long as needed - the same thing I tell my motorcycle service department - I just want it done right. I also asked about a military discount; he said yes, 10%. He said it would be ready Saturday 9 July, and requested I pick it up then because space is at a premium because you are so busy. Then he said he would call me when it was ready. He offered this; I did not ask. (And he never called me; I waited around for hours for a call that did not come. I finally called at 2 PM - very difficult to get someone on the phone - and was told it was ready. I also texted the shop about 3 times, a nice aspect of your business website, but never received a reply. Not good.) Please see uploaded file for complete details.Business response
