      Venice Park Apartments will not return our security deposit.Since we vacated, we have both sent many emails and called the office located at the apartment complex no less than 20 times only to be told corporate handles that, and the best they can do is email corporate and get back to us with an update. No one has ever gotten back to us to date.I have also emailed, spoken with and left messages for ************************* with Asset Living, Venice ************************. During my conversation with *****, she mentioned she did not see any problem and that the final statement had been made shortly after we vacated the apartment so we should have received a check already. ***** assured me that I would receive our check even if they had to overnight it by December 11, 2023. Since then, ***** has not returned any of my messages since.Venice Park shows our move out reason as Death or illness. This is because I was unexpectedly hospitalized every month for 10 months for at least a week at a time for numerous health reasons, from August 2022 through May of 2023, which ended in the amputation of my leg. I was unable to work due to all that time in the hospital and paying rent was very difficult, but, through all this, rent was always in full and on time through the remainder of our lease. We also gave our move out notice in the manner they requested. Venice Park said they can only send the deposit to one person so it should be sent to me. I am happy to give you my previous roommates phone number, as he has agreed for me to send him his half after I receive payment.If you need any additional information, I am happy to provide it.I truly hope you can help, as this has become exhausting. Is this not a crime?

      I gave an application for residence at this location which was listed to cost $80, which I found to be reasonable. I was charged an additional $200 for a holding fee when I informed them same day I would be taking a contract elsewhere and did not need them to hold a unit for me. They have refused to refund this unwarranted fee.
