I booked a room through Booking.com for 3/30/23 (confirmation **********) for Island Breeze Inn. I arrived as scheduled and checked into the front desk. I was given keys to room 24 and I entered the room. Upon entering the room, I saw the sheets were dirty, so I decided to check the bed out thoroughly, that is when I discovered many cockroaches and 2 small brown bugs, which I can only assume to be bed bugs. There were so many dead bugs and hair near the back of the bed that it was obvious the room had not been cleaned prior to my arrival. The bathroom was also very dirty. The pictures on the website DO NOT match the facility. The pictures may have been when they first opened. I immediately went back to the front desk to cancel my reservation. I was told by the employee that a manager would not be there until 5:30pm and somebody would contact me regarding a refund. When I did not hear from anyone, I called Booking.com and they reached out to the same gentlemen that checked me in and he confirmed the situation, but said we had to wait on a manager. The next day, I reached back out to Booking.com and when they called Island Breeze, someone told them I cannot get a refund because I stayed there. This is false information, I wasn't even in the room for five minutes, I had to sleep on my family's couch. To make sure I could prove my case, I did take photos and videos of the room condition before leaving, I have emailed and called numerous times both Island Breeze Inn and Booking.com trying to get a refund.
