We had to fire ********************* of Coast to Coast Builders of Florida in August of 2021, after he walked off the job and did not return. We had to pay over ********* to fix everything his crew screwed up. Including the addition being 1 1/2" lower than the existing room, the door to the outside had to be cut open from a 28" opening to a 32" opening per code. The two windows had to be redone, they'd taken out the window bucks to make the (windows made for a wood frame house) windows fit.The plans called for hurricane proof windows. They left owing *** Concrete cutters *******. They came to serve me with a lien on my house but fortunately I had money to pay it. Inspections failed 17 times. They left our gate open and our dog got out and was hit by a car. I could go on but you get the picture.Business response

The statement that we walked off the job and never returned is false. During such an unprecedented time with Covid-19 pandemic, all time frames for materials and installation dates were extended to extreme levels as we all dealt with the effects of the virus. One of the last vendors contracted Covid-19 and spent several weeks in the hospital. At that point, the Owners sent a letter advising we were fired, not allowed on the property, and wanted no further contact. The Owners would not communicate with us to allow us to provide any options to rectify any disputes or offer satisfactory resolution.
It is not ever our intention to make a customer wait or be stressed over the building project on their home. Under normal conditions, the time periods to complete this project would not have occurred, however, obtaining and delivering of materials and subcontractors, the building department process, labor, and construction procedures were not normal nor within our control by any means.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
This Covid19 excuse was only one of many. Also communication would have been nice.In addition, you never responded about leaving ** with a ******* bill and the threat of a lien being placed on our home.
Just want the public to know that we paid over ********* dollars to fix everything your company screwed up.
We didn't send that letter firing you until you hadn't come back or communicated with you for over a month!
