  My husband and I signed a settlement agreement with this contractor (*********************, from DGC) to complete the damages that occurred from Hurricane *******. This dispute took long to file because I was trying to give the contractor chances to complete what he promised. I should have listened to his partner who he fired for stealing from customers. He had a lawyer sit down with us and we went through everything that needed to be completed. This all took over 4 years of back and fourth because he wanted to benefit from the storm and took on to much at once. He failed to take out permits and even tried to bribe a county clerk. the county clerk notified us, but because of the contract we signed there was nothing I could do. After the settlement we paid him $3K to start immediately but he didn't start for months of us nagging. Then when we were to our **** end, he said he had a guy working on our house for the past three weeks. When we told him that nobody has been to our house, he called us liars and we had to send him pictures to prove we were telling the truth. I had to email him a rediculous amount of times asking when work would be accomplished. I even told him when I found out I was pregnant that he had 8 months, to which he said he could get it done in three weeks. That obviously didnt happen.His painters he set to paint what was supposed to be our house... showed up didnt speak english but we gathered that they didnt have equipment. They only brought the paint. They did not bring ladders or even plastic to cover our belongings. After sitting around for hours waiting while one guy went and got a ladder, they painted our ceiling. They got paint on my furniture, the fans, artwork and down the side of the walls. We let Mr. ***** know the quality of work and he argued with us. at that point he said he would come do everything himself. That would have been fine, if he did a good job, but everything he touched was done poorly. I Have more to say but I am out of space.
