I was eligible for a medical scooter paid by ********* Perkins medical sent one to me without asking any type of questions or the opportunity to make sure the scooter was sufficient for my needs. They just showed up to my door, the delivery person didnt even know how to set up or demonstrate on its use, When I finally figured out how to operate the scooter I realized it was not suitable for my needs, its was too small, unstable to the point it tipped over when I tried using it. I called and explained the situation and was given the run around. I contacted ******** and explained what happened and they said Perkins should take back the scooter so It can be replaced with one thats more appropriate and covered by ********. I called several times and asked for them to come and take this back, they refused and said it mine now. ******** will not pay for another scooter thats safe and appropriate until Perkins takes back the scooter. I have asked from when I first received this and several times over the months to please come take this scooter back without any progress.Business response

Not much of this is factually correct. We delivered the scooter that we can bill to ******** and accept assignment for which means no out of pocket cost for the patient. She used the scooter and even had us come and check it out 2 months later as she felt the back wheel wobbled. We inspected it and everything was fine. Afterwards she claimed the scooter didn't fit her and we need to take it back. We could not. Months later she called ******** and we did a 3 way phonecall and ******** agreed that we did everything we were supposed to do and ******** thanked me for my time and tried to explain to her that we couldn't take back the scooter. The scooter she wants isn't even covered by ********.

Perkins Medical refused to provide CPAP machine. They told me that we supposedly owed another med supply money in 2011 (not true). The supervisor hung up on me, refused to listen to the truth with proof and told me not to call back. They are very rude and treat their patients like garbage. I spoke with the other med supply and verified that no money is owed. I also spoke with ******** and verified it as well. DO NOT use Perkins Medical Supply if you want good service.Business response

There were several issues when trying to get the documentation needed to bill the insurance. However, we never said they owed another company money.....that isn't our concern or privy to know. What we did state is that ******** only showed 10 payments (not the 13 which is typical) and that ******** wasn't showing that the old machine was purchased. Also, the documentation on file did not meet ******** guidelines. The spouse called me and I looked into myself and found that ******** should have only paid 10 in this instance. Also, the doctor should have the documentation needed but we still don't have it on hand. We have requested it. I apologize that this has been an ordeal but we can't dispense a machine without having everything needed to bill the insurance. I am hopeful that this will be accomplished soon.Initial Complaint

I had a prescription for a medical prace and I brought it into Perkins. The office manager decided that he did not think ******** would approve the brace so he made me pay $90 for the prace. He showed his knowledge was weak and ******** paid Perkins $72.00 within two weeks and my supplemental insurance paid them $18.00 so I was due a refund for the $90.00 Perkins made me pay. Every time I call I am given a multitude of poor excuses ie the check has not been posted ,or you know the mail is slow. Please help me get my $90 refund.Business response

We had you pay upfront but we did **** ******** and your supplement for you. This is not atypical in this situation with the diagnosis. I'm glad ******** approved the brace and paid their portion. To this date, your supplement has not paid. It is normal that it takes them longer as they have to wait for ********'s decision. As soon as they pay the remaining portion, we will send out a refund check. Thank youInitial Complaint

3/28/22 i told the sales person over the phone the description model number and asid. he said he didnt know what asid was.i told him i had no way of knowing if it was the item i was looking for, and to know what he had for sale so couldnt comparison shop. i was surprised that they did business this way even though they seemed privileged to be an old-timer in a non-competitive market.he seemed argumentative and uncooperative i told him i couldnt do business this way and hung up without ordering anything i was surprised when several hours later a delivery person said he had "my order". i told him i didnt order anything and refused delivery of whatever he had,i disputed the charge on my bank card they are still disputing my refund and characterized the transaction as educationalBusiness response

This is the first I have heard of this. I did not see any prior messages from BBB. **************** had ordered an item and gave us his credit card number to pay for the item. When delivered, he refused it. He is eligible for a full refund. There has been no communication from him to us. The refund would have been issued after month's end or sooner had he called. He now appears that he is doing a charge back with his credit card so we will have to communicate with the merchant services before we can refund. The refund will be processed thru us or thru merchant services promptly.
