Got WORSE than NOTHING for my $5,000 from Renaissance Tax, Inc.!!!When we knew we had a tax problem, I hired them because I was assured that they would help ease a very stressful situation with both state and federal tax institutions. They asked for documentation and payment up front, which I sent in a timely manner so we would not have any liens on our property while we were working on payment plans. Not only did we get a lien on our property from the state, but they did nothing to help with our payment plans, I did all that. One of the promises was that they would be the ones dealing with the state and fed people so we could relax about things.Our assigned tax person said that our Federal taxes would be reduced by a huge amount due to a tax basis difference that he would file - so when I gathered the very difficult information to collect, he never filed it and I found out when our yearly statement was sent with the original amount owed and no reduction in fees...when I tried to call, text, email several times. He never...ever responded. It turns out that the *** has never received any documentation for us. We are in worse shape than if we had never hired these so-called "experts" to help us through this difficult process. Had I just applied the $5,000 we paid them, we would have been WAAAAY further ahead on paying off our balance.
