I paid Ashton Jaimes Design Elements three installments totaling $3762.50 for interior design services (2/21/22, 2/27/22 and 3/16/22). According to our contract, Jasmyne N., owner, was supposed to get my final approval before purchasing all items. She told me both verbally and in writing that anything I didn't like could be returned. On installation day (March 13), she brought dozens of items I hadn't approved. A couple of days later she removed the items I didn't want; she refunded me a total of $743.05. She provided me with some documentation about the cost of the project, but it doesn't explain how she arrived at the amount she charged for the items I kept nor the amount of money she refunded me for the items I didn't keep. Many of the receipts she provided are illegible. I reached out multiple times via email for help in trying to understand the charges. Jasmyne responded to some; Operations Manager Ellen M. to others. In response to my last email, Ellen ended her email with, "Please note this is our last and final communication regarding this matter." Since they did not provide me a breakdown that would help me understand how they arrived at those amounts, I created my own list detailing all the expenses incurred. According to my calculation, they still owe me $728.44. I reached out to my credit card company for help last month, but I found out yesterday that they need a list of the items I didn't keep and how much each of those items cost in order to process a dispute. Because many of the receipts are illegible or generic (ex: "home decor"), and I didn't keep those items, I am unable to provide that information to them. I am hoping you can resolve this for me. I am uploading a copy of our contract; packet of receipts given to me on installation day; pictures/texts; receipts/pricing; emails; their breakdown/time tracker (titled Excel document); a more detailed explanation of the events that transpired; and the breakdown I created.
