On 3/7/2024 I brought my truck in for a repair to Collision 2000. The work they offered to do included REPLACING my bumper and painting damaged areas. I asked them to return my old bumper so I can verify that the bumper had been changed. They later called and asked me to pay an additional $125 because they needed more parts to mount my bumper properly to which I agreed to. Coincidentally, when I went to pick up my truck the trash had come by the day before and taken my old bumper with it. I would not have to much of a problem with this since it seems like a reasonable mistake. However, my "BRAND NEW" bumper has imperfections similar to the ones I made on my previous bumper with cement that dried. It appears they charged me for a bumper replacement and did not do the work they promised. I would understand if the bumper didn't need to be replaced and they could work on it to get it back to new. What I do not understand is why they would lie about needing to replace my bumper, charging me for it, and then not doing what was promised. I deserve an explanation and I really hope its a lot better then "the trash took your bumper".Business response

Upon completion of the customer's repairs and bumper replacement, his wife came to pick up the truck on Friday March 8th. She informed us that her husband requested the original bumper back. Unfortunately, the employee her husband had spoken with originally was out that day. We spoke with the technician who replaced the bumper, and he was unaware of the customer's request. Recycling had come the day before, but yet we still searched the shop, the dumpster and surrounding areas in the hope that it was still there. We kindly requested the customer return on Monday 3/11 when our writer returns to the office so we may come up with a satisfactory resolution. Instead of returning or calling as we agreed, the customer decided to file a complaint with ******************** accusing us of not replacing the bumper. On Tuesday 3/12 the customer finally returned, and we reviewed his complaint together. We showed him the original receipt for a brand-new bumper from the dealership (see attached invoice) as well as showing him the backside of the new bumper that was clean and free of debris and still had the original manufacturer labels on it. The customer stated that he was satisfied with this proof of the new bumper and said he would address his complaint with BBB and request for it to be removed. However, he never did so.
We sincerely regret the miscommunication and discarding of your original bumper. We are a small family owned and operated business with OUTSTANDING reviews for well over a decade. We take pride in our work and would never be deceptive. Accusing us of lying is reckless and damaging to our personal and professional reputation. Our customers use BBB as a tool to determine who they trust to bring their cars for repair. A false complaint could cause irreparable damage to our business, and we don't take this lightly. We understand your concerns and wish you had addressed them to us privately before you made these false accusations so public. We respect our relationship with BBB and sincerely appreciate all our customers.
